Julia Knight

I never knew what my life would be like when I agreed to be a surrogate for so many years.

I had been on the streets since I was born, until I was five and then placed in a nunnery.

When I came of age, I had no family left.

I had sold flowers and bread on the street until I was fourteen, and then became a servant for a while.

I had been taught some things, but not much.

I was illiterate and could barely speak proper English.
