I sat in the back of the dark, dingy room watching as a group of fresh faces went through a training session.
The smell of sweat and dirt filled my nostrils.
It was familiar, comforting in a way.
It was where I started, where I learned to be the wrestler that I became.
A Hall of Famer.
I glanced down at the paper in my hand.
The medical report from the doctor.
The one that told me that it was time to hang up my boots, that my body could no longer withstand the punishment that I put it through.
Fuck that.
I knew that it was coming.
I had been feeling it for a while now, the aches and pains were getting worse, I was getting slower, my body no longer reacting the way that it should.

I crumpled the paper in my hand and tossed it into the trash can.
No way was I giving up that easily.
I stood up, stretching my sore muscles, and walked over to the ring where Mia Torres was practicing her moves.
"Keep your guard up, Mia!" I shouted, watching as she sparred with another trainee.
Her movements were quick, but she needed to be sharper.
She had potential, a fire in her eyes that reminded me of myself when I first started.
Mia looked over at me and nodded, adjusting her stance.
She threw a series of punches and kicks, each one more precise than the last.
I could see the determination in her face, the desire to prove herself.
"Good, that's it!" I encouraged her.
"Remember, it's not just about strength. It's about strategy."
She nodded again, sweat dripping down her forehead.
I could see she was pushing herself to the limit, just like I used to.
As I watched Mia train, I couldn't help but think about my own journey.
The countless hours in the gym, the sacrifices, the pain.
It was all worth it for the thrill of the fight, the roar of the crowd.
But now, it was time to pass on what I knew to the next generation.
And Mia wasn't the only one who needed my guidance.
Jake "The Bull" Anderson walked into the gym, his presence commanding attention.

He was my rival for years, but we had a mutual respect for each other.
We both knew what it took to be at the top.
"Rogue," Jake greeted me with a nod.
"How's retirement treating you?"
"Not retired yet," I replied with a smirk.
"Still got some fight left in me."
Jake chuckled and shook his head.
"You never change. So, what's this about training some new blood?"
I motioned towards Mia.
"She's got potential. Just needs some fine-tuning."
Jake raised an eyebrow.
"And you think you can turn her into a champion?"
"I know I can," I said confidently.
"But it's not just her. We need to build a team."
Jake looked around the gym, considering my words.
"A team, huh? You really think we can pull that off?"
"We have to," I replied firmly.
"The wrestling world is changing. We need to adapt or get left behind."
Jake nodded slowly.
"Alright then. Let's do it."
With Jake on board, we began to train Mia more intensely.
Every day was a challenge, pushing her beyond her limits.
"Mia, focus!" Jake barked during one session as she struggled with a new move.
"You can't afford to make mistakes in the ring."
Mia gritted her teeth and tried again, determination etched on her face.
She was learning fast, but there was still a long way to go.
One evening after training, Mia approached me while I was packing up my gear.

"Sarge," she said hesitantly.
"I wanted to thank you for believing in me."
I looked at her and saw the sincerity in her eyes.
"You've got what it takes, Mia. Just keep pushing yourself."
She smiled and nodded.
"I will."
As we continued our training sessions, word started spreading about our little alliance.
Other wrestlers began showing interest in joining us.
One day, as we were wrapping up a particularly grueling session, a figure appeared at the entrance of the gym.
It was Marcus "The Hammer" Hayes, another well-known wrestler with a reputation for being ruthless in the ring.
"What do you want?" Jake asked warily as Marcus approached us.
Marcus crossed his arms and looked at us with a steely gaze.
"I heard you guys are building something here. I want in."
I exchanged a glance with Jake and then turned back to Marcus.
"We're not looking for troublemakers," I warned him.
Marcus smirked.
"I'm not here to cause trouble. I'm here because I want to be part of something bigger."
Before I could respond, a loud crash echoed through the gym as someone kicked open the back door.
We all turned to see who it was.
Standing there was a group of masked men wielding steel pipes and chains.
They charged towards us without warning.
"Get ready!" I shouted as we braced ourselves for the attack.
