Emily Cameron is a Pogue through and through but what will happen when she falls in love with JJ another pogue , despite the rules(Emily is Sarah’s identical twin sister. She hates her mom dad and brother. Ran away at 15.)
Emily Cameron
rebellious Pogue, in love with JJ, identical twin sister to Sarah, hates her family, long brown hair, green eyes, fiercely independent and defiant.
JJ Maybank
Pogue and Emily's love interest, friends with Kiara and Popeye, tall with messy brown hair and blue eyes, loyal and protective.
Sarah Cameron
Emily's identical twin sister who stayed in Kildare County while Emily ran away at 15.
There’s a thin line between love and obsession.
For me, it was the same thing.
I loved him.
I knew that he loved me.
And I would do anything to be with him.
Anything.
Even if it meant taking out his best friend.
Even if it meant taking out my twin sister.
After all, she had everything I ever wanted in life.
Why should she have JJ too?
This is the story of a girl who wanted too much and got more than she bargained for.
This is a story of love, lies, and murder.
This is my story.
My name is Emily Cameron, and this is how I ruined my life and got everything I ever wanted.
When you’re a Pogue, you learn to be resourceful.
You learn to get by on your wits and your smile.
When you’re a Pogue, you learn to be resourceful.
You learn to get by on your wits and your smile.
But sometimes, that’s not enough.
Sometimes, you have to take what you want.
I was sitting on the edge of the dock, my feet dangling over the water, when JJ walked up.
He had that easy smile that made my heart race every time I saw it.
“Hey, Em,” he said, sitting down next to me.
“Hey,” I replied, trying to keep my voice steady.
We sat in silence for a moment, listening to the waves lap against the shore.
JJ reached over and took my hand, his touch sending shivers down my spine.
“I’ve been thinking,” he said softly.
“About us.”
My heart skipped a beat.
“What about us?” I asked, barely able to breathe.
He looked at me with those deep blue eyes that always seemed to see right through me.
“I want to be with you, Emily,” he said.
“But we have to be careful. You know how people talk.”
I nodded, understanding all too well.
In Kildare County, Pogues like us were always under scrutiny.
But I didn’t care about any of that.
All I cared about was being with JJ.
“I don’t care what they say,” I whispered fiercely.
“I love you.”
He smiled and leaned in to kiss me, his lips warm and soft against mine.
For a moment, everything was perfect.
Then I heard footsteps behind us and pulled away quickly.
I turned to see Sarah standing there, her expression unreadable.
“Sorry to interrupt,” she said coolly.
“I was just looking for you, Emily.”
I stood up, feeling a surge of anger and jealousy.
“What do you want?” I snapped.
Sarah raised an eyebrow at my tone but didn’t respond right away.
Instead, she looked at JJ, her gaze lingering a little too long for my liking.
“I just wanted to talk,” she said finally, turning back to me.
JJ stood up as well, sensing the tension between us.
“I’ll leave you two alone,” he said quietly before walking away.
As soon as he was out of earshot, I rounded on Sarah.
“What’s your problem?” I demanded.
She crossed her arms over her chest and sighed.
“Emily, this isn’t about you,” she said patiently.
“It’s about JJ.”
“What about him?” I asked suspiciously.
Sarah hesitated for a moment before speaking again.
“He deserves better than this,” she said softly.
“He deserves someone who can give him a future.”
I felt a cold knot form in my stomach.
“What are you saying?” I asked slowly.
She met my gaze evenly.
“I’m saying that maybe it’s time for you to let him go,” she said quietly.
“For his sake.”
I stared at her in disbelief.
“You think you can just waltz back into my life after all these years and tell me what to do?” I spat angrily.
“You don’t know anything about me or JJ!”
Sarah sighed again and shook her head sadly.
“I’m trying to help you,” she said gently.
“But if you won’t listen…”
She trailed off and turned to leave without another word.
I watched her go with a mixture of rage and fear boiling inside me.
How dare she try to take JJ away from me?
How dare she think she knows what’s best for him?
As I stood there trembling with anger, an idea began to form in my mind.
If Sarah wanted a fight for JJ’s heart… then that’s exactly what she would get.
And I wasn’t going down without a fight.
Later that night, I found myself wandering through the darkened streets of Kildare County.
The moon hung low in the sky like an ominous omen as I made my way towards Popeye’s house.
If anyone could help me figure out how to deal with Sarah… it would be him.
I knocked on his door and waited anxiously until he answered.
“Emily? What are you doing here?” he asked in surprise.
“We need to talk,” I said urgently as I pushed past him into the house.
Popeye closed the door behind me with a frown.
“What’s going on?” he asked warily.
“It’s Sarah,” I said quickly.
“She’s trying to come between me and JJ.”
Popeye raised an eyebrow skeptically.
“And what do you want me to do about it?”
“I need your help,” I pleaded desperately.
“Please… we can’t let her win.”
He studied me for a moment before nodding slowly.
“Alright,” he said finally.
“But this better not come back to bite us.”
“It won’t,” I promised fervently as relief washed over me.
But deep down… something told me this was only the beginning of our troubles.
