My name is Grace Maximoff, and up until a few months ago, I thought I was just an ordinary girl.
Sure, my dad had been a superhero, and my aunt still was (when she wasn’t being an Avenger), but me?
I’m just a high school student who happens to run a lot faster than most people.
I don’t have any superhuman strength or telekinetic powers like my aunt or other mutants.
I can’t even shape shift like my dad could (and still, as far as I know, he’s the only one who could do that).
No superpowers here, folks.
I’m just a slightly-above-average teenager with slightly-above-average abilities.
And that’s why it was such a shock when I found out I was dying.
The doctor who told me was some kind of genius, the head of a famous hospital in Manhattan.
He looked at me with the kind of sorrow in his eyes that made me think he’d been through this before, which was impossible since my condition was so rare.
