I woke up in a bed that wasn’t mine.
I sat up and looked around the room, trying to figure out where I was.
It was then that I realized I was not alone.
Aaron Hotchner was sleeping next to me.
I shook him awake and he sat up quickly, looking around the room in a panic.
"Where are we?"
he asked me.
"I don’t know," I replied.
"I think we’re in my old bedroom at my mom’s house."
He looked at me, confused.
"What are you talking about? Your mom lives in Connecticut."
I stared at him, not sure what he meant.
Then it hit me.
I was looking at Aaron Hotchner, but he was not the Aaron Hotchner that I knew.
Teenage Minds: A BAU Transformation
He looked like a teenager, maybe sixteen or seventeen.
"Aaron," I said slowly, "how old do you think you are right now?"
He frowned, touching his face as if to confirm what he was seeing. "I... I feel like I'm in high school again."
I scrambled out of bed and rushed to the mirror on the wall. Staring back at me was a younger version of myself, complete with awkward braces and a mop of unruly hair.
"Oh no," I muttered. "This can't be happening."
Aaron joined me at the mirror, his eyes widening as he took in our reflections. "Spencer, what is going on?"
Before I could respond, we heard noises coming from the hallway. Footsteps, voices—familiar yet different. We exchanged a quick glance and cautiously opened the door.
In the hallway stood Derek Morgan, Emily Prentiss, and JJ Jareau—all looking like teenagers. Derek was wearing a letterman jacket, Emily had heavy eyeliner and a punk rock vibe, and JJ looked like she had just stepped out of a cheerleading practice.
"What the hell?" Derek exclaimed, looking around wildly. "Why do I feel like I'm back in high school?"

Emily crossed her arms, her expression skeptical but worried. "This has to be some kind of joke."
JJ looked at me with wide eyes. "Spencer, do you know what's going on?"
I took a deep breath, trying to steady my nerves. "I have no idea how this happened, but we need to stay calm."
"Stay calm?" Derek's voice rose an octave. "We're teenagers again! How are we supposed to stay calm?"
Aaron stepped forward, his authoritative presence still intact despite his youthful appearance. "Everyone needs to take a deep breath. Panicking won't help us figure this out."
The group quieted down slightly, though tension hung thick in the air.
"Okay," I said, trying to think logically despite the surreal situation. "First things first—we need to contact Rossi and Garcia. Maybe they can help us understand what's going on."
Emily pulled out her phone and frowned. "No signal."
"Same here," JJ added, checking her own phone.
Derek slammed his fist against the wall in frustration. "Great! Just great!"
"Let's not lose our heads," Aaron said firmly. "We need to stick together and figure out our next move."

I nodded in agreement. "Right now, let's focus on understanding our surroundings and see if there's anything that can give us a clue."
We moved through the house cautiously, each room bringing back memories from my childhood that felt both comforting and disorienting.
As we reached the living room, Emily suddenly stopped short. "Did you hear that?"
We all froze, straining to listen.
There it was—a faint rustling sound coming from outside the window.
Derek moved towards it slowly, peering through the curtains. His eyes widened in alarm as he turned back to us.
"Guys," he whispered urgently. "There's someone out there."
My heart pounded in my chest as we all gathered around the window.
In the dim light of dawn, we could make out shadowy figures moving towards the house.
"We need to hide," Aaron said quickly. "Now!"
We scattered throughout the room, searching for hiding spots just as the front door creaked open.
The sound of footsteps echoed through the hallway, growing louder with each passing second.
My mind raced as I tried to come up with a plan.
But before I could act, the door burst open—and we came face-to-face with our intruders.
