I had thought that my days of being an Archon were behind me, but it seemed that fate had other ideas.
I had once been a god, but now I was merely a mortal living in the harbor of Liyue.
The change had been sudden and disorienting at first, but I had adjusted to my new life with surprising ease.
My days were spent wandering the bustling streets of the city, the sound of the ocean echoing in my ears as I made my way through the crowds.
It was a far cry from the quiet solitude of the mountains that I was used to, but I had grown to enjoy it all the same.
I had taken up the name Morax, a name that few people recognized, and I lived a simple, unassuming life.
It was a stark contrast to the grandeur and power that I had once possessed as an Archon, but I found that I didnāt mind it at all.
In fact, I found that I rather enjoyed it.
I spent my days doing all of the things that mortals did ā eating, sleeping, and working to earn a living.
Sometimes I took on odd jobs just to pass the time, and other times I simply wandered around the city, taking in the sights and sounds around me.
As I walked through the streets, I couldnāt help but feel a sense of nostalgia come over me.
It had been over a year since I had last been here, and yet nothing seemed to have changed.
The merchants were still shouting at the tops of their lungs to advertise their wares, and the residents were still hurrying about on their way to work or school.
I smiled as I watched them go by, feeling a sense of duty welling up within me.
Even though I was no longer an Archon, it was still my responsibility to protect the people of Liyue.
And that was something that I fully intended to do.
I stepped into one of the many tea houses that lined the street, relishing in the peaceful atmosphere as I took a seat at one of the tables.
Granny Ruoxin greeted me with a smile as she poured me a cup of tea, and I returned her smile in kind as she sat down across from me.
āItās good to see you again, my boy,ā she said as she took a sip of her tea.
āItās been far too long since your last visit.ā
I nodded, taking a sip of my own tea as I thought about what she had said.
āIt feels like time moves so quickly these days,ā I said, although I wasnāt sure if that was entirely true.
After all, what did I know about the passage of time?
I had been immortal for so long that I could hardly remember what it was like to be a mortal.
And now that I was one once again, I found that I didnāt quite know what to make of it.
āI know what you mean,ā Granny Ruoxin said with a chuckle.
āBut you mustnāt dwell on such things, my boy.
Life is too short as it is, and we should spend our days enjoying it while we can.ā
I nodded, taking another sip of my tea as I pondered her words.
They were true enough, but they also made me feel a little uneasy.
I had spent so long being a god that I didnāt quite know how to be a mortal anymore.
