The town of Ravenwood was a small one, and as such, it didn't have much in the way of a library.
In fact, the only thing that even remotely resembled a library was the single room on the second floor above the used bookstore in the town square.
It was little more than a couple shelves of old books, most of which were romance novels published in the 1980s, and a table in the center of the room where five people could sit uncomfortably.
Despite all of this, Jamie still spent a considerable amount of time there.
It was one of the few places in town where he could find some peace.
Most of the time, he was alone, but occasionally an older woman would appear from nowhere and sit at the table.
She always wore long, flowing black dresses and had silver hair that cascaded to her waist.
Jamie had never mustered the courage to speak to her, but he often wondered who she was and what she did.
He saw her occasionally around town, but she never spoke to him or anyone else.
