Mr. Jenkins
Max's owner who works long hours leaving Max alone often but deeply cares for him despite his busy schedule, tall with saltandpepper hair and warm blue eyes, kindhearted but distracted.
Lily
a stray cat who becomes Max's unlikely ally in the city, has a mysterious past but is fiercely independent and resourceful, grey fur with striking green eyes, cunning and agile.
Max
a curious and adventurous dog who loves exploring the city, has a special bond with his owner but feels lonely when left alone, sleek black fur with piercing brown eyes, energetic and playful yet sensitive.
As soon as my owner, Mr. Jenkins, leaves for work, I slip out of the house.
I know I’m not supposed to, but I just can’t help myself.
The city is too fascinating, too full of smells and sounds for me to stay inside all day.
Today, like most days, I begin my exploration by following the same familiar route.
I trot down the sidewalk of my quiet neighborhood street, keeping an eye out for any stray cats.
I don’t like cats.
They always seem so unfriendly, and I’ve had a few runins with them in the past.
I turn right at the next corner and head into the business district.
It’s bustling with people, but none of them pay any attention to me.
I weave in and out between their legs, tail held high as I sniff at every fire hydrant and tree.
The sounds of car horns, chatter, and music fill my ears.
