It was a typical Tuesday evening for me.
I was sitting on the couch in my living room, wearing my usual ripped jeans and white tank top, flipping through TV channels with my girlfriend Sarah on my lap.
She was wearing her usual flowy skirt and had her hair tied up in a curly brown bun.
She was a lot shorter than me, which was something that I loved about her.
As we watched our favourite show, we were kissing and cuddling like any other couple would.
Suddenly, the doorbell rang.
I got up to answer it, assuming that it was just a pizza delivery or something.
When I opened the door, I was shocked to see two police officers standing there with solemn faces.
My mind immediately went to my parents.
"Is everything okay?" I asked.
"Can we come in?" one of the officers asked.
