I woke up feeling refreshed and ready to take on the day.
Today was the first day of school, and I was excited to see all of my old friends.
I got out of bed, threw on some clothes, and headed downstairs.
My mom was in the kitchen making some pancakes.
"Good morning, honey."
She smiled at me.
"Morning."
I replied.
I took a seat at the table, and she placed a short stack of pancakes in front of me along with some syrup.
"Did you have a good summer?"
She asked, taking a seat at the table as well.
"It was good. I spent most of it with Lucas."
I told her.
"Oh yeah? How is he?"
She asked, picking up her cup of coffee.
"He's good. He went back to camp for a few weeks, but other than that we hung out almost every day."
I told her.
"That sounds like fun. I'm sure he loved having you around."
She said, smiling.
"Yeah he did. Hey mom?"
I said, looking at her.
"Yeah honey?"
She replied.
"Do you think…do you think I could get some more tattoos? Maybe one on my arm and another on my ribs?"
I asked her.
"Well Jamie, I think that's something your father and I will have to discuss. You know how he feels about your tattoos, but we'll talk about it and let you know what we decide."
