I’m a lesbian, who meets a gorgeous woman by chance.
Sophia Reyes
mysterious stranger, the object of Emily's affection, long flowing brown hair, hazel eyes, confident and enigmatic.
Alex Martin
Emily's supportive best friend, unaware of Emily's orientation change, curly blonde hair, blue eyes, humorous and loyal.
Emily Carter
young lesbian, infatuated with the new woman, short black hair, green eyes, shy but adventurous.
I was sitting at the coffee shop, sipping on my iced caramel macchiato, when she walked in.
She was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen.
Her long flowing brown hair, hazel eyes, and perfect lips made me want to run my fingers through her hair and kiss those lips.
I couldn’t take my eyes off her as she ordered her coffee and sat down at a table near the window.
I watched her from across the room, hoping that she would look up and see me staring at her.
She was so captivating that I didn’t even notice when my best friend Alex sat down across from me.
"Earth to Emily," he said, waving his hand in front of my face.
"Are you in there?"
I blinked a few times and looked at him.
"What?"
"You’ve been staring at that girl for like ten minutes," he said with a laugh.
"I was starting to think you were in a trance or something."
I felt my face flush with embarrassment as I looked back over at the woman.
She was still sitting at the table, reading a book and sipping on her coffee.
"I can’t help it," I said with a sigh.
"She’s so beautiful."
Alex followed my gaze to the woman and whistled.
"Wow, you’re not kidding," he said.
"She’s stunning."
I nodded, unable to tear my eyes away from her.
"You should go talk to her," Alex suggested, nudging me with his elbow.
I shook my head vigorously.
"No way. I can’t just walk up to her and start a conversation."
"Why not?" Alex asked, raising an eyebrow.
"What’s the worst that could happen?"
"I don’t know," I mumbled.
"She could think I’m weird or something."
Alex chuckled.
"Emily, you’re overthinking this. Just go say hi. You never know what might happen."
I bit my lip, feeling a mix of excitement and fear bubbling up inside me.
"What would I even say?"
Alex shrugged.
"Just be yourself. Ask her about her book or something."
I glanced back at the woman, who was now flipping through the pages of her book with a serene expression on her face.
My heart raced at the thought of approaching her.
"I can’t do it," I said finally, slumping back in my chair.
Alex sighed.
"You’re going to regret it if you don’t at least try."
I knew he was right, but my feet felt like they were glued to the floor.
I imagined various scenarios in my head—walking up to her and introducing myself, complimenting her on her choice of book, asking if she came here often—but each one ended with me chickening out.
As I sat there, paralyzed by indecision, I noticed the woman glancing at her watch and starting to gather her things.
Panic surged through me as I realized she was about to leave.
"She’s leaving!" I whispered urgently to Alex.
He gave me a pointed look.
"This is your chance, Emily. Go!"
Taking a deep breath, I stood up on shaky legs.
My heart pounded in my chest as I took a tentative step toward her table.
But before I could take another step, the door to the coffee shop swung open and a tall man walked in.
He made a beeline for the woman’s table and leaned down to kiss her on the cheek.
My heart sank as I watched them exchange a few words and laugh together.
They looked so comfortable with each other, like they had known each other for years.
Defeated, I turned back to Alex and sank into my chair.
"It’s too late," I said quietly.
Alex frowned.
"Maybe she’s just a friend or something. You don’t know for sure."
But deep down, I knew he was just trying to make me feel better.
The connection between them was undeniable.
As they stood up to leave together, the woman glanced in my direction and our eyes met for a brief moment.
A small smile played on her lips before she turned away and walked out of the coffee shop with the man.
I felt a pang of disappointment as I watched them go.
I had missed my chance.
But just as I was about to give up hope entirely, something unexpected happened.
The woman stopped at the door and turned back toward me.
She reached into her bag and pulled out a small piece of paper, scribbling something on it before handing it to the man beside her.
