I stepped off the plane and into an unfamiliar land.
I was in Hungary for the next three months, and I couldn’t wait to get started.
I’d been looking forward to this break for what felt like forever.
Three months at a five-star resort in a beautiful country I’d never been to before?
It sounded like heaven.
I was twenty-one and in my second year at Harvard Law School.
This little vacation was exactly what I needed.
A chance to get away from the books and recharge before coming back for my final year.
I was here to relax and have some fun in the sun, not to mention hopefully find a little romance while I was here.
That was the plan, anyway.
As I made my way through customs, I couldn’t help but notice all the gorgeous men around me.
Maybe this break would be more than just relaxing and having fun?
Maybe I’d find "the one" while I was here?
I pushed open the heavy wooden door, and Kate followed closely behind, her long blonde hair bouncing with each step.
As we stepped out into the warm Hungarian sun, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement wash over me. The resort's grounds were even more breathtaking than I had imagined – lush greenery, vibrant flowers, and sparkling fountains created a tranquil atmosphere that immediately put me at ease.
Kate slipped on her oversized sunglasses and gazed around, taking in the scenery. "Wow, this place is stunning," she breathed.
I nodded in agreement, my eyes scanning the area. "I know, right? I've never seen anything like it."
We strolled down a winding path, the sound of chirping birds and gentle water features filling the air. The scent of freshly cut grass wafted up, and I felt my shoulders relax further.
As we walked, Kate told me about her latest film project, her passion for acting evident in her animated gestures and bright smile. I listened intently, asking questions and laughing at her witty anecdotes.
We eventually found ourselves at the resort's main pool, where a group of guests were lounging on sunbeds or swimming laps. Kate suggested we grab a drink from the nearby bar and enjoy the sun for a bit.
I agreed, and we settled into comfortable chairs, sipping our fruity cocktails and chatting about everything from our favorite books to our childhood memories.
As we laughed and joked, I caught myself stealing glances at Kate – her striking blue eyes sparkled in the sunlight, and her carefree spirit was infectious.
Suddenly, a loud splash echoed from the pool, followed by a chorus of cheers and applause. We turned to see a group of guests gathered around the edge of the water, their faces lit up with excitement.
Kate's eyes met mine, and we exchanged a mischievous grin. Without a word, we set our drinks down and made our way towards the commotion...
