Her relationship with Li Xin is deeply siblingcentric, providing him with motivation and solace amidst loss and uncertainty. Yan
She is a young girl with the rare ability to control twilight. She is introverted, guiltridden, and compassionate. Following the twilight, she joins Li Xin on his quest to find his sister. Her past in a research facility haunts her,and she grapples with her role in the events unfolding. Despite her initial reluctance, she becomes crucial to navigating through the twilight world and assists Li Xin in overcoming obstacles, forging an unlikely bond with him along the way.
Before Li Xin was born, the world had already come to an end.
The end of the world was not as terrible as people had imagined.
It was not a comet, nor a nuclear war, nor an alien invasion.
But suddenly there appeared a裂縫 in the sky, like a black scar of an endless abyss, tearing the entire firmament asunder.
The sun did not rise again, and the stars disappeared.
The once blue sky turned gray, and the air became thin.
The entire world seemed as if it had been frozen in time, an endless desolation shrouding the earth.
Li Xin awoke in the depths of slumber, as if a mysterious force whispered in his ear, filling his heart with both unease and an exhilarating sense of anticipation.
He lived in a small town that had been built after the end of the world.
The town was small, with only a few hundred people living there.
Li Xin's home was situated near the center of the town, a small cottage worn by the passage of time. Its walls were cloaked in vines, as if they were whispering tales of days gone by.
Li Xin sat up in bed, rubbed his heavy eyes, and slowly walked over to the window, attempting to find a glimmer of light through the time-stained gray glass.
He looked out at the dark sky and sighed. He walked out of his room and went to the kitchen to make some breakfast.
His parents had long since left to tend to their busy lives, while his sister remained lost in the embrace of slumber, the gentle rhythm of her breathing filling the room like a soft, melodic whisper.
Li Xin made himself some toast and eggs, then sat down at the table to eat.
As he ate, he listened to the radio.
There were no news programs anymore, but there were still some music stations that played old songs from before the end of the world.
Li Xin finished his breakfast and walked out of his house.
He lived in a small neighborhood that was filled with other houses just like his own.
The streets were narrow and winding, and there were no cars anymore.
Everyone walks or rides their bicycle to get around.
Li Xin walked through the neighborhood and into the center of town.
There are some shops and restaurants there, as well as a large park where people can unwind, or sit on benches to converse with one another.
Li Xin wandered into the park, where he beheld a throng of children frolicking with abandon. Some darted between the trees, playing at hide-and-seek, while others zipped down the paths on their bicycles, their laughter ringing out like silver bells, echoing sweetly through the air.
Li Xin continued walking until he reached the edge of town.
There stood a towering wall encircling the entire town, with watchtowers erected at intervals along its length. Sentinels stationed atop gazed vigilantly into the distance, their watchful eyes scanning the surroundings, while a few guards stood resolutely at the entrance.
Li Xinchao walked over to a guard and greeted him.
The guard nodded at him and asked him what he was doing out so early in the morning.
Li Xin told him that he simply wished to take a stroll, to see what lay beyond the wall.
The guard looked at him with a mixture of curiosity and caution.
"Li Xin, you know the rules," the guard said, his voice firm but not unkind.
"Yeah, but don't you ever wonder what's out there?" Li Xin replied, his eyes gleaming with a hint of rebellion.
