I'm Sally Johnson.
I'm a Policewoman.
I have a black pixie cut, tattoos on my arms and torso and I'm tall.
I'm a tomboy.
Not in the sense that I hate dresses and won't ever wear one, because I do on special occasions like weddings and formal events.
I'm a lesbian tomboy.
I prefer to wear boyish clothes like jeans, T-shirts and sneakers.
I'm married to my wife Sarah and we have a teenage daughter named Lily.
We live in a small house in suburbia and have two cars in the driveway.
We're the quintessential nuclear family.
Lily has short brown hair in a pixie cut, just like my tomboy friends and me.
Sarah has long blonde hair in a ponytail.
She's the feminine one in our relationship.

I trudged through the front door, the weight of my duty belt digging into my hips, a constant reminder of the long shift I'd just endured.
Sarah's warm smile greeted me, a beacon of comfort in the midst of exhaustion. "Hey, hon," she said, her eyes crinkling at the corners.
Lily, our teenage daughter, looked up from setting the table, her short brown hair bobbing as she nodded in my direction. The aroma of roasted chicken wafted from the kitchen, teasing my senses and stirring my appetite.
As we gathered around the table, Sarah took her seat beside me, her hand brushing against mine. I felt a spark of gratitude for this little family of mine, for the sense of normalcy they brought to my chaotic world.
Sarah's eyes met mine, and she asked the question I knew was coming: "So, how was your day?"
I hesitated, glancing at Lily, who was watching us with an intensity that made me wonder what she was thinking. But Sarah's knowing look encouraged me to share, to unburden myself of the day's events.
"It was...eventful," I began, taking a deep breath. "We've had a string of break-ins in the neighborhood. Nothing too serious, but it's got everyone on edge."
Sarah's brow furrowed as she listened intently, her eyes never leaving mine. "What's the MO?" she asked, her voice laced with a hint of curiosity.
I launched into a detailed account of the case, describing the similarities between each break-in, the lack of evidence left behind. Lily watched us, her eyes darting between Sarah and me as we discussed the finer points of police work.
As I spoke, Sarah's expression grew more thoughtful, her fingers drumming against the tablecloth. "You know, I think I might have an idea," she said finally, her voice tinged with excitement.
I leaned forward, my heart quickening with anticipation. "What is it?"
But before Sarah could respond, Lily's phone buzzed on the table, shrill and insistent. She snatched it up, her eyes scanning the screen before her face fell.

"What is it?" Sarah asked, concern etched on her face.
Lily's eyes met mine, a flicker of fear dancing in their depths. "It's Emily," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "She says someone's been lurking around her house."
I exchanged a worried glance with Sarah, feeling the urgency of the situation.
"Did she see who it was?" I asked, trying to keep my voice steady for Lily's sake.
Lily shook her head, her fingers gripping the phone tightly. "No, but she thinks it's the same person from the break-ins."
