I remember the day we discovered time the most clearly.
It was as if my brain finally clicked into place.
I’d been living my life as usual—wandering aimlessly, exploring the empty city, talking to my friends—when suddenly everything made sense.
I had a past.
I had a future.
I had a name.
Elara Voss.
I stared at myself in the mirror and touched my own face, unsure of who I was before but happy to find out now.
My hair was silver, almost white.
My eyes were strange like everyone else’s on this planet without time.
They didn’t age or die, so they didn’t have wrinkles or grey hair.
They didn’t have much of anything to mark the passage of time since time didn’t really exist.
But I was different now.
I remembered being born and growing up and living my life and making mistakes and learning.
