My name is Nicholas, but my friends call me Nick.
I'm a superhero.
I have blond hair and blue eyes.
I'm ten years old.
I have to project everyone, so I have to keep it a secret.
I'm willing to help others no matter the cost.
I'm brave and determined.
When I'm not saving people, I go to school.
My best girlfriend since four-k is Daisy.
She has orange hair and green freckles on her face and beautiful green eyes.
She never leaves my side.
She doesn't know I'm a superhero.
I have to keep it a secret from her also.
I always have to be careful when I'm around her, so she doesn't suspect anything.
I can't lose her; she's the only best girlfriend I got.
I met her in 4k, and we've been best friends ever since then.
I always save her first when something happens; if I have more than one person to save, I have to save her first.
If I didn't, I wouldn't be able to protect everyone.
If something happens to her, I won't be able to protect everyone.
If something happens to her and I can't protect her, I won't be a superhero anymore.
If I didn't have powers, I would still project her because she's the only best girlfriend that I got.
I always make sure she's okay before I go save anyone else.

During lunch break, I sit with Daisy at our usual table by the window.
I keep looking around the cafeteria to make sure no one is watching us.
She keeps looking at my arm that is bandaged up from yesterday when I fought a robot downtown.
She keeps looking at me funny, so I try to ignore her and eat my sandwich.
She looks at me with a frown on her face.
"Nick, what happened to your arm?"
I fumble with my sandwich, trying to come up with something good.
"I fell off my bike."
She looks at me funny and pulls out her phone and shows me a blurry photo from the local news.
It's a photo of a small figure in a mask fighting a robot downtown.

I push my cafeteria tray away and point to the old copy of "The Secret Garden" sticking out of Daisy's backpack.
"Look, Mary found a robin!"
I say.
She immediately perks up and starts telling me about how Mary Lennox has been exploring the neglected garden on her new family's estate, and how she heard a bird singing in one of the trees.
She's so excited about this little robin that she forgets all about my bandaged arm.

I use this opportunity to slide my arm under the table.
As I do, the bandage brushes against the hard bench, and I wince.
Daisy stops talking mid-sentence, her green eyes narrowing as they dart to my injured arm.
"Nick, I know you're lying," she whispers, her voice barely audible over the cafeteria noise.
