I was stuck to open the crystal tomb.
My friends who were supposed to help me ran away and left me here.
I tried to open it but I couldn't.
I thought I was going to die until someone opened it for me.
The interesting thing was that this person was a wolf!
A handsome wolf at that!
He was so kind and gentle.
Then I found out he was a prince and he seemed to know me even though this was the first time we met.
He told me that I was his destined mate and that he had been searching for me his whole life.
I didn't know if I should believe him or not.
But then I found out something interesting.
He knew who I was and where I came from, but I didn't know the same thing about him.
I didn't know his name, where he came from, or what his clan was. The only thing I knew about him was that he was a kind and handsome wolf. Then I found out something interesting again.
When we went out of the cave where the crystal tomb was, he told his people to be on high alert because they were at war with my people.
My people?
I didn't know who my people were.
The only people I knew were my friends who had betrayed me and left me to die.
Wait…
Did he just say his people were at war with my people?
Wait…
This means that my people knew where I was the whole time.
Wait…
The Wolf Prince's Mate
The sun was setting and the sky was painted with hues of orange, pink, and purple.
The shadows of the trees grew longer as the sun dipped below the horizon.
I stood facing Kaito, the wolf prince.
"Tell me about my people and this war," I demanded, trying to keep my voice steady despite the turmoil brewing inside me.
Kaito hesitated, his eyes searching mine for something.
"Your people... they are led by those who betrayed you," he said slowly, carefully choosing his words.
Taro, Kaito's brother, approached us with a solemn expression on his face.
It was a stark contrast to his usual playful demeanor.
"It's not just a war of territory," Taro added quietly.
"It's a war of survival," he continued, glancing at Kaito for confirmation.
"The betrayal runs deeper than you know," Kaito said, his voice tinged with regret.
"They seek to harness the power of the crystal tomb for themselves," Taro revealed, his eyes filled with urgency.

The last rays of sunlight faded, casting the forest in a warm orange glow.
The air was filled with the sweet scent of blooming flowers and the distant chirping of birds.
I stood there, frozen in shock, trying to process the weight of their words.
The betrayal of my people stung, but the promise of sanctuary with Kaito's clan offered a glimmer of hope.
Taro's presence reminded me that I had already forged a bond with this clan, one that could grow stronger if I chose to stay.
"Stay with us," Kaito urged, his eyes pleading.
A rustle in the nearby bushes caught our attention.
A group of wolves emerged from the underbrush, their eyes shining with trust and acceptance.
I felt an inexplicable pull towards them, a sense of belonging that I never knew I could have.
The Wolf Prince's Mate
The clearing was filled with the wolves who had become my unlikely allies.
Kaito's gaze never left mine, silently urging me to make the decision that weighed heavily on my heart.
Taro leaned against a tree, his usual playfulness replaced by a rare seriousness.
The wolves watched me with anticipation, their loyalty palpable in the air.
I took a deep breath, the weight of my choice settling upon me.
"I will stay," I declared, my voice steady despite the turmoil within.
Kaito's relief was palpable as he stepped forward, clasping my hand firmly.
"Thank you," he whispered, his voice filled with gratitude.
Taro grinned, the seriousness momentarily lifting.
"Welcome to the family," he said warmly, a hint of his usual mischief returning.
