Me: Santiago Burciaga
My best friend: Korin Thompson
Age: 14 years old
We have known each other since we were in kindergarten.
I never knew that my best friend was a werewolf until the day that I went to her house for a sleep over.
She was normal like a normal human being until I went to get some snacks from the kitchen.
When I came back to the living room, I was shocked to see her transform into a werewolf.
She was still wearing the clothes that she had on before she transformed but they were torn a little.
I didn't scream or anything.
I just said, "Korin?"
Then I walked over to her and I wasn't scared of her.
Even though she looked scary as a werewolf, she was still my best friend.
She looked at me and then she bowed her head.
I could tell that she was shy and then she walked away from me and into the woods behind her house.
I followed her and then I said, "That can you make me one?"
She turned around and looked at me.
She blushed and then she nodded her head.
She bit my hand and then we waited to see if it would work.
After about five minutes, I started to feel myself transforming into a werewolf.
The clothes that I had on started to tear a little but not too much.
I could feel my body changing and I could feel a new kind of strength in my body.
Korin looked at me with anticipation and relief.
We were in a clearing surrounded by tall trees.
The moon was shining down on us, casting an ethereal glow over everything.
I took a deep breath, feeling the cool night air fill my lungs.
Korin stepped closer to me, her eyes meeting mine.
She let out a soft howl that echoed through the woods.
I hesitated for a moment, unsure of what to do.
Then, I joined in, my voice blending with hers in a harmonious chorus.
The sound was exhilarating, resonating within me and echoing off the trees.
We paused for a moment, listening to the silence that followed our howls.
Korin: "I never thought I'd share this part of me with anyone, Santiago."
Me: "I'm glad you did. It feels like... I finally belong somewhere."
Korin: "There's more to this life than just the transformation; it's a whole new world waiting for us."
As the echoes of our howls faded away, Korin stepped closer to me, her eyes reflecting the moon's glow.
Her hand brushed against mine, sending a jolt of electricity through my transformed body.
The air between us crackled with a newfound tension, a mix of excitement and nervousness.
I glanced at her, noticing the slight tremor in her fingers.
She was still getting used to this new side of herself, just like me.
We stood there for a moment, silent but connected in a way that transcended words.
Then, she spoke up, breaking the silence.
"Want to explore this world together?"
I nodded eagerly, eager to see everything through her eyes.
Korin: "There's a hidden path that leads to an ancient grove, where the elders gather."
Me: "Elders? You mean there are more like us?"
Korin: "Yes, and they can teach us things we never imagined."
She turned and began walking through the dense forest, her steps sure and confident.
I followed closely behind her, my senses heightened as we traversed the overgrown path.
Vines and roots twisted around our feet, as if the forest itself was trying to hold us back.
But Korin knew the way, and she led me through the darkness with ease.
The air grew cooler, filled with scents I had never encountered before.
I stumbled once, catching myself on a low branch, feeling the rough bark beneath my fingers.
Korin glanced back, her eyes glowing softly in the moonlight.
She offered a silent encouragement, urging me forward.
We continued deeper into the woods, pushing aside thick branches and fighting our way through thorny underbrush.
Finally, we emerged into a clearing surrounded by towering trees that formed a natural circle.
In the center stood a stone altar, ancient and mysterious, waiting for us to uncover its secrets.
As we approached the clearing, the air seemed to shift, a subtle change that only heightened senses like ours could detect.
Korin stood still for a moment, her eyes scanning the perimeter of the clearing.
The moon cast an ethereal glow over everything, and I could feel its influence coursing through my transformed body.
I glanced at Korin, noticing something different about her.
She seemed more relaxed, almost as if she had let go of a burden that had weighed her down.
Her eyes met mine for a brief moment, then darted away, revealing a hint of shyness that I hadn't seen before.
She stepped forward, her body starting to shift in a subtle way.
I watched transfixed as her features gradually transformed into those of a wolf.
Her fur glistened under the moonlight, shimmering in shades of silver and midnight blue.
Her movements were fluid and graceful, even as she grew larger in size.
I felt an instinctive urge to step back, but my curiosity kept me rooted to the spot.
Korin's transformation was complete now, and she padded around me in a circle.
I reached out tentatively with my hand, feeling the warmth of her fur beneath my fingers.
The texture was soft and surprisingly familiar. She nudged me gently with her snout, urging me forward.
I hesitated for a moment, unsure if I should follow her into this unknown territory.
But something about her eyes told me it was safe—she would never put me in danger.
