Marissa "Mari" Maleficent

first_person_protagonist, female. She is the daughter of Maleficent and a student at Auradon Prep. She is intelligent, keen, and determined. Marissa navigates the complexities of her relationship with Henry, son of Captain Hook, while dealing with her rivalry with Uliana, daughter of Ursula. Despite the challenges, she remains loyal to her friends and family, embracing her heritage as a villain's kid.

Ellie Grimhilde

side_character, female. She is the daughter of the Evil Queen and a student at Auradon Prep. She is beautiful, bittersweet, and supportive. Ellie serves as Marissa's best friend and confidante amidst the complexities of their relationships with other villain kids.

"Did you hear that, Mari? They said they want us to choose some of the kids from the Isle to come here to Auradon Prep," Henry Hook, the son of Captain Hook and my boyfriend told me over the phone.

"Yeah, I heard. But I don't know if I can choose anyone. I mean, we don't know anyone from there," I said.

"Well, maybe we can ask our parents about it. They used to live there before they became villains," he said.

"Yeah, that's a good idea," I said.

We were both silent for a while.

Then he spoke up again.

"Mari? Did you hear that they will be coming here next week?" he asked me.

"Yeah, I heard. But we have to tell our parents about it first," I said.

"Alright, let's do that. But we have to make sure that we are both telling the truth about who we chose," he said.

"Of course, Henry. We can't lie about something like this," I said.

"Alright, so let's make a deal. We will talk to our parents about this tonight and then we will call each other back to discuss who we are going to choose," he said.

"Sounds good to me," I said.

"Good. Well, let me go now, so I can talk to my mom and dad. I'll call you later tonight," he said.

"Alright, I will do the same. Goodnight, Henry," I said.

"Goodnight, Mari," he said.

"Goodnight, Mari," he said.

Then we hung up.

I grabbed a notebook and a pen from my desk drawer and sat down at my desk.

I tapped the pen against my chin, trying to think of what I was going to do.

I knew that we had to choose some kids from the Isle of the Lost, but I wasn't sure who to pick.

I had never met anyone from there before.

I started scribbling down some names that I remembered my mom talking about.

There were so many kids on the Isle; it was hard to remember them all.

But I knew that I had to try.

I sat there for a while, writing down names and thinking about what I was going to do.

Then Ellie knocked on my door and walked in without waiting for me to answer.

She flopped onto my bed, looking at me curiously.

"Any luck?" she asked me.

"Not really," I admitted, glancing at my list.

Ellie raised an eyebrow. "You know Mom's been talking about this girl, Uma, right? Apparently, she's got some serious potential."

I hesitated, then nodded slowly. "Yeah, but there's something else—Mom mentioned Uma's been planning something big on the Isle."

Ellie leaned forward, her eyes lighting up with interest.

"Something big? What do you mean?"

"I'm not sure," I admitted, tapping my pen against the desk.

"But I think it might be a little risky to bring her here."

Ellie shrugged.

"Well, if she's got brains and guts, she could definitely shake things up around here."

I sighed, looking at my list again.

I wasn't sure what to do.

But I knew that I had to make a decision soon.

Then my phone buzzed with a message from Henry.

"Hey, did you make any decisions?" he asked.

I stared at the message for a while, thinking about what to say.

Then Ellie spoke up again.

"Mari? What's going on?"

"It's Henry," I said, looking at the message on my phone.

"He wants to know if I've made any decisions yet."
