I was twenty-four years old when I made the pact.
It wasn’t with the devil specifically, but rather one of his ‘middle managers’—a being of lesser power, but still an evil entity that fed on human souls.
The deal was simple: I would get seven years to live my life as I wanted, want for nothing, and have all my dreams fulfilled.
In return, at the end of those seven years, the devil would come and claim my soul.
I knew it was a risk.
I also knew I had nothing to lose.
At that point in my life, I was struggling to make ends meet, working two jobs just to keep a roof over my head and food in my mouth.
My future looked bleak, and I was willing to do whatever it took to change that.
So I made the bargain.
The man who came to me in the dead of night, his face twisted into a grotesque smile, handed me a contract written in blood.
I signed it without reading the fine print.
I didn’t care about the details.
All I wanted was a chance to live the life I’d always dreamed about.
And then, just like that, everything changed.
The next morning, I woke up in a mansion overlooking the ocean.
My bank account was filled with millions of dollars.
A brand-new Lamborghini was parked in my driveway.

I stepped into the grand foyer, my footsteps echoing off the marble floors.
The chandelier above cast prismatic light across the cream-colored walls, which were adorned with Renaissance paintings.
Moving through the living room, I ran my fingers over the plush leather furniture and intricately carved mahogany tables.
Each room revealed a new luxury: a home theater with reclining seats, a wine cellar stocked with vintage bottles, and a library filled with first editions of my favorite novels.
The master bedroom boasted a king-sized bed draped in silk sheets and a walk-in closet filled with tailored suits and designer clothing.
At the desk, I found a folder filled with property deeds, bank statements, and investment portfolios—all in my name.
My hand trembled as I opened the safe hidden behind a painting.
"Are you sure you're ready for this?" a voice asked from behind me, startling me.
I turned to see the man from that fateful night, his eyes glinting with something akin to amusement.
"I don't have a choice now, do I?" I replied, my voice steadier than I felt.
The Vampiric Contract
The middle manager circled my mahogany desk, his polished shoes clicking against the marble floor.
He pulled out a leather chair and sat across from me, his movements fluid and calculated.
With a flick of his wrist, he produced a new contract from thin air and spread it across the surface of the desk.
The document was bound in black leather, adorned with intricate silver filigree.
As I opened it, the pages revealed a companion package - someone to share my remaining years with, another soul bound to my fate.
My hands trembled as I read the terms.
Eva's name was written in blood-red ink, accompanied by stipulations about our forced connection.
The middle manager tapped his silver pen against the paper, awaiting my signature.
I gripped the edge of my desk, remembering Morgan's warning about making additional deals.
I hesitated, then signed, sealing both our destinies.
