I still remember the first time I saw her.
It was our freshman year at high school, and I was completely lost because I wasn't familiar with the school's environment.
That's when I saw her.
She was standing under a tree on the school's campus, reading a book.
At that time, I didn't know who she was, but I knew she was something special.
From that day on, I started to look for her every day after school.
I would hide behind walls or trees just to get a glimpse of her.
I knew it sounded weird, but I just couldn't help myself from looking at her.
I soon found out that her name was Emily Parker, and she was also in my class.
Everyone at school liked her, not just because she was beautiful, but also because she was kind and charming.
I soon fell in love with her, but I never had the courage to confess my feelings to her.
I just hoped that one day my feelings would fade away, but they never did.
They only grew stronger day by day.
Ten years have passed since the day I met her, and my feelings for her never faded away.
They only became stronger.
Today is our graduation day.
We're all adults now, and I still haven't confessed my feelings to her.
I still don't have the courage to do so.
The graduation ceremony has ended, and everyone is taking pictures with their friends.
I'm standing at the edge of the crowd, watching Emily's every move.
She looks so beautiful in her blue graduation gown.
Jake nudges me from the side, grinning from ear to ear.
He's my best friend and has known about my feelings for Emily since we were freshmen.
He's always telling me to confess my feelings to her, but I never have the courage to do so.
"Come on, Liam. This is your last chance to confess your feelings to her," Jake says, his eyes shining with amusement.
My heart starts beating faster as I watch Emily walking toward us with a smile on her face.
I can't take my eyes off her.
She's so beautiful that she takes my breath away.
I can feel Jake nudging me again, urging me to go talk to her.
I take a deep breath and try to calm myself down before going after her.
"Emily."
I call out her name as I walk toward her.
She turns around with a smile on her face, looking more beautiful than ever.
"Hey Liam. Congratulations on our graduation," Emily says, looking at me with genuine interest in her eyes.
I can't help but stare at her mesmerizing green eyes.
They're like two emeralds shining brightly under the sun.
"Thanks. Congratulations to you too," I say, smiling back at her awkwardly. "Liam! Emily! Come here and take a picture with us," Sarah calls out from behind us while waving at us excitedly.
Sarah is Emily's best friend and is also in our class.
She's always teasing me about my feelings for Emily, but she never tells anyone about it because she knows how much it means to me.
Emily smiles at me before turning around and walking toward Sarah and their other friends.
I watch them taking pictures together, feeling like an idiot standing there doing nothing.
Jake comes over and nudges me from the side again, grinning mischievously at me.
"Go talk to her. This is your last chance," Jake says while looking at Emily with interest in his eyes.
"I know. I'll do it this time," I say, looking at Emily longingly as she laughs happily with her friends by the tree.
My heart skips a beat as I watch her laughing so freely and openly like that.
She looks so carefree and happy that it makes my heart ache even more. "Liam! Are you coming or not?"
I turn around and see Jake looking at me with a questioning expression on his face.
I nod my head before following him toward Emily and her friends.
As I walk, my mind drifts back to the day when Emily and I first became lab partners.
We were both freshmen at that time, and we didn't know each other well.
We would just smile awkwardly at each other whenever we met in class.
It wasn't until we became lab partners that we started talking to each other.
We would sit together during lunch and talk about our interests and hobbies.
Those days felt so intimate, as if we were the only two people in the world.
Now, as I watch Emily laughing happily with her friends by the tree, it feels like there's a chasm between us that I can never cross.
"Hey Liam. What are you doing here?"
Jake asks, snapping me out of my thoughts.
He's standing next to me with a mischievous grin on his face.
"I'm going to talk to Emily," I say, looking at her longingly as she laughs happily with her friends by the tree.
"Then go talk to her. This is your last chance," Jake says, nudging me from the side while looking at Emily with interest in his eyes. I take a deep breath before walking toward Emily determinedly.
She turns around just as I'm about to reach her, smiling warmly at me as always.
