He enlists his friends' help to execute the concept, overcoming challenges and learning valuable lessons about teamwork and perseverance.
Emily Carter
patient, and witty. Emily helps prepare the twins for the photo shoot by applying makeup to create a unified look. Her attention to detail ensures that the final result meets Jared's vision.
Mark Benson
supportive, and laidback. Mark helps Jared with his photography project by recruiting identical twins from his acting class. Despite initial skepticism, he assists in setting up the shoot and provides comedic relief throughout the process.
The way to create a realistic photograph of a guy with several pairs of legs is to get male identical twins (or triplets or quadruplets or quintuplets) to stand close together or sit on each other’s laps, and then digitally remove all the torsos, except for the first one.
That sounds easy enough, but it actually isn’t.
The first problem is finding identical twins (or triplets, etc.) who are willing to pose for this photograph.
The second problem is making them all look like the same person wearing several pairs of pants.
This involves making them all wear the same type of pants, as well as the same shoes—and making sure they all have the same haircut and hairstyle.
It also involves applying makeup in such a way that they all will appear to have the same skin tone and facial features.
The third problem is digitally editing the photograph to remove all the torsos, except for the first one.
This requires a lot of time and patience, as well as skill in using photo editing software.
If you don’t have these qualities, you may want to recruit someone who does to assist you in editing the photograph.
But if you are willing to put in the time and effort, you can learn how to do it yourself.
You can start by watching video tutorials online and practicing what you learn.
I sit at my desk, scrolling through online clothing stores.
Mark leans against the wall, watching me.
They are three sets of identical twins.
Mark nods.
"Sounds good."
I nod, continuing to scroll.
"Good."
I stop at a page with reference photos of professional barefoot models.
"Mark, can you come here for a sec?"
He walks over to my desk.
"What’s up?"
I turn my monitor so he can see it.
"I was looking at these reference photos for the poses we’ll have the guys do. I want to make sure they look natural and not staged."
"Okay. Looks good."
"Yeah, I think so too. I just wanted to double check with you. We’re going for a relaxed vibe, like someone just lounging around their house. So I don’t want anything that looks too posed or formal."
"Exactly."
I nod.
"So…"
I turn back to my computer and click through the photos.
"So, I was thinking we could have them all go barefoot. That way we can get a shot of their feet in their natural state, without any socks or shoes getting in the way."
"Okay…"
Mark says slowly.
"I mean, it makes sense, but…"
"But what?"
I ask.
"But are you sure that’s a good idea? I mean, it’s winter. It’s cold. And we don’t know how clean the studio floor is."
"I was thinking about that," I say.
"I’m going to add cleaning the studio floor to our prep list. And maybe we can get a heating system installed. Or just some portable space heaters." "Okay…"
Mark says again.
"And what about the guys? They’ve never been barefoot on set before. They’re always wearing shoes."
"I know," I say.
"But that’s exactly why I want them to go barefoot. It’s going to make the photo shoot feel more intimate and relaxed. Like they’re just lounging around at home and not posing for a formal photo shoot."
"Okay," Mark says again.
"I think you’re right."
I nod and turn back to my computer.
"Good."
I open a new document and start typing out a checklist of things we need to do to prepare for the shoot: clean the studio floor, install a heating system or purchase portable space heaters, make sure all the twins are comfortable going barefoot on set…
"And maybe we should buy some sanitizing wipes," Mark suggests.
"And have them on hand just in case anyone wants to wipe down their feet before taking off their shoes."
"Good idea," I say, adding it to my checklist.
Mark hesitates, then asks, "Do you think they’ll actually agree to this barefoot thing?"
I pause, considering his question. "Well, if we explain it’s for the authenticity of the shot and promise them a comfortable environment, I think they might be open to it."
