I was born in 2087.
The year my dad, a time traveler, came to this era was 2001.
He was twenty-one years old when he had me.
My mom was eighteen.
I don't know why he chose to stay in the past rather than go back to his own time.
Perhaps he loved my mom too much and didn't want to lose her even though he would die young if he stayed here.
Maybe he wanted to use his ability to foresee the future to change the course of history.
Whatever his reasons were, I'm grateful that he came and taught me so many things.
If it weren't for him, I wouldn't have survived for so long in this harsh world.
My name is Ethan, but Dad called me "Time Traveler's Son."
He said that I inherited his ability, and indeed I can foresee many things beyond all comprehension.
But I'm not telling you about whom I am or what I can do.
Not now at least.
The Three Apes
In the ruins of an old library, I found a dusty journal.
It had been buried under a pile of broken books and papers for a long time.
The cover was worn out, and the pages were yellowed with age.
But the handwriting inside was still legible, and it looked familiar to me.
I touched the faded ink with my fingers and felt a strange sensation.
My foresight suddenly activated, and I saw a vision of the past.
The world blurred around me, and I felt like I was being pulled through time and space.
When my vision cleared, I found myself standing in the same library, but it wasn't in ruins anymore.
It was still whole and full of life.
I saw a young man standing at a table, writing in the very journal that I had found.
The Three Apes
He looked up, and I realized that it was my father when he was twenty-one years old.
He glanced at a photo on the table next to him, which showed my mom when she was eighteen years old.
She looked so young and beautiful, with long brown hair and bright blue eyes. My father wrote something in his journal and then looked up again.
He seemed to be thinking deeply about something, as if he was trying to make an important decision.
After a few moments, he continued writing.
I couldn't read what he was writing because my foresight didn't allow me to see everything clearly.
But I knew that he must have been thinking about whether or not to stay in 2001 or go back to his own time.
My father knew that there would be an apocalypse in 2087, which would wipe out most of humanity.
He also knew that he would die young if he stayed here because his body wasn't adapted to this era's environment.
But he loved my mom so much that he decided to stay with her even though it meant giving up his chance to live a longer life. As I watched my father write in his journal, I heard a distant explosion outside the library.
The Three Apes
It was so loud that it shook the entire building, and I stumbled backward.
My father looked up from his journal and frowned.
He seemed to be confused by the noise, but he didn't seem to be worried about it.
I tried to tell him that something was wrong, but my foresight wouldn't let me speak.
All I could do was watch as he continued writing in his journal.
Suddenly, there was another explosion outside the library, and this time it was even louder than before.
The building shook violently, and I fell to the ground.
My father looked up from his journal again, and this time he seemed to be concerned.
He got up from his chair and walked over to the window to see what was happening outside.
As he approached the window, I heard footsteps coming from the hallway outside the room where he was sitting. The door opened, and a man walked in.
The Three Apes
He was tall and lean, with short brown hair and blue eyes.
He wore a tattered lab coat over his clothes, which were stained with blood.
My father turned around to face him, and I could see that he was surprised by the man's appearance.
"Who are you?"
My father asked him.
"I'm here to help you," the man replied in a deep voice that sounded familiar to me.
I couldn't quite place it, but I knew that I had heard it before somewhere.
"You need to come with me," the man said again, stepping closer to my father.
I wanted to warn my dad about this stranger, but my foresight still wouldn't let me speak or move.
All I could do was watch as the man approached my father. My father took a step back from him, looking unsure of what to do next.
The man stopped moving forward and held up his hands in a gesture of peace.
"Don't worry," he said softly.
"I'm not going to hurt you."
My father hesitated for a moment before nodding slowly at the man.
The man smiled slightly and then reached into his pocket for something.
The Three Apes
I couldn't see what it was because my foresight didn't allow me to focus on anything except for my father's face at that moment.
But I knew that whatever it was must have been important because my father's eyes widened when he saw it. "What is that?" he asked the man curiously. "It's a temporal device," the man replied calmly.
"It will allow us to travel through time together."
And with that, the vision faded, leaving me alone in the ruins, clutching the journal that held my father's untold secrets.
