Side Character
Girlfriend, side_character, a female. She is William's girlfriend and a fellow student in the same theater class. She is witty, caring, and playful. She shares a strong bond with William, often engaging in lighthearted banter and teasing him about his height. She appreciates William's affectionate nature and enjoys the romantic gestures he makes towards her.
My name is William Araiza.
I'm dating the girl of my dreams, and I'm honestly the luckiest guy alive.
She's everything I could want in a girlfriend.
She's smart, funny, caring... she's basically perfect.
The only bad thing about her is that she likes to tease me.
A lot.
Like, pretty much all the time.
But since I like to tease her too, we get along pretty well.
One of the things that she teases me about the most is my height.
She's a little shorter than me, but not by much.
Enough that I can put my chin on top of her head, but not enough that anybody else would really be able to tell unless we were standing next to each other.
She liked to pretend that it was a lot more than that though.
Whenever we were standing next to each other, she would act like she had to stand on her tiptoes just to reach my shoulder.
It was pretty adorable, and I didn't really mind it.
I thought that it was pretty cute, and I didn't really mind her teasing me in the first place.
It was just something to do, something to talk about.
"I'm going to have to stand on my tiptoes just to give you a kiss hello."
She teased as soon as she walked into class today.
I rolled my eyes and grinned.
"Something wrong with that?"
"No… nothing at all."
She said, stretching up onto her tiptoes.
I leaned down and met her halfway.
She was warm and soft in my arms, and the chatter of our classmates faded into the background as I focused on her smile.
Her eyes were sparkling with mischief, and I couldn't help but smile back.
"Alright class!"
Our theater instructor's voice cut through the room, breaking us apart.
"We're going to be moving on to a new scene today. It's a couple in conflict. I want you all to take a few minutes to read over the scene, and then we'll get started."
He handed out copies of the scene, and I took one from the stack before turning to see who my partner was going to be.
I already knew it was going to be her, but she raised an eyebrow at me anyway.
It was like a challenge, daring me to do something.
I just nodded at her and smiled, accepting whatever she had planned.
We made our way to the front of the room and climbed up onto the stage, brushing fingers as we did so.
We stood side by side, looking over the script.
I could see the glint of excitement in her eyes, and I couldn't help but smile.
She was always like this when we were doing something new.
She loved to perform, and she was good at it too.
I had no doubt that she was going to be a star someday.
"Ready?"
She asked, looking up at me.
I nodded, and we began.
Our voices echoed through the empty theater, filling the space with emotion and drama.
Her delivery was sharp and precise, and I found myself struggling to keep up with her.
She was so good that it made me want to be better.
I stepped closer to her as we continued, feeling the heat between us growing as our characters argued with each other.
The words were coming easier now, and I could feel myself getting into the scene.
I reached out and grabbed her arm, pulling her closer as our characters' argument escalated. "You're lying!"
I growled at her, my voice low and menacing.
"No! You're wrong!"
She shot back, her voice full of emotion.
Suddenly, there was a creaking sound from beneath our feet.
The floor of the stage gave a lurch under us, throwing us both off balance.
I reached out instinctively for her arm again, grabbing onto it tightly as the floor gave another jolt beneath us.
The sound of creaking wood filled the air as a section of the stage gave way beneath us, opening up into a trapdoor that led down into darkness below.
We tumbled down together, landing in a heap on a soft surface below.
It took me a moment to catch my breath and look around.
