I stood in front of the mirror and touched up my makeup.
I was going to a function tonight, but not as myself, rather as my wife.
Yes, you heard that right!
My wife and I had decided to dress up as each other, and I must say the result was amazing.
I looked just like a female version of myself, and my wife looked just like a male version of herself.
The Switch
We were so good that even our friends didn't recognize us when we met at the function.
Jason Mitchell approached me with his wife, Sarah.
He gave me a warm hug and said, "Emily, you look great!"
I laughed and said, "Thanks, love. You're looking great too."
Sarah looked at me curiously, trying to figure out why my voice sounded so different.
My wife had given me a wig that looked just like her hair, and my clothes were a perfect fit for my body.
Even my shoes were comfortable.
I was surprised by how well my wife had done with my outfit.
She had even given me a fake tattoo to match the one she had on her chest.
After a few minutes, Jason and Sarah excused themselves and moved on to greet other guests.
My wife approached me, looking great in her outfit.
She had even gotten a fake tattoo to match the one I had.
The Switch
I spotted my in-laws across the room.
They were standing by the buffet table, chatting with other guests.
I grabbed Emily's arm and whispered, "They're over there."
The Switch
Emily giggled and said, "Let's go say hi."
We both knew we had to be careful, so we decided that she would go first.
I watched as she walked confidently over to them, her hips swaying with every step.
She had copied my swagger perfectly, and I couldn't help but laugh at how funny she looked.
As she approached my in-laws, I pretended to fix my lipstick in my compact mirror.
I watched as she hugged her mother and shook hands with her father, just like I would.
They seemed completely at ease with "Harrison" and didn't even flinch when Emily did her best impression of me.
My heart was racing as I smoothed down my dress and prepared to join them.
Emily caught my eye and gave me a little nod before turning back to her parents.
The Switch
I walked over to the dessert table and pretended to study the selection.
I could hear Emily chatting with her parents, her hands moving animatedly as she spoke.
She had copied my habit of talking with my hands perfectly, and I couldn't help but laugh at how funny she looked.
My mother-in-law laughed at something "Harrison" said, and I saw her touch Emily's arm affectionately.
After a few minutes, Emily excused herself and walked over to me.
She moved confidently, just like I would, and stopped next to me at the dessert table.
She grabbed two champagne flutes from a passing waiter and handed one to me.
I took a sip and studied her face intently.
The Switch
The Switch
She looked amazing in my clothes, and I couldn't help but notice how well she had done my makeup.
Her eyes were lined perfectly, and the contouring we had spent an hour on was flawless.
Emily leaned in and whispered, "Your mom just asked if we were planning any surprises for the anniversary party next month."
I chuckled softly, replying, "Did you tell her about the trip to Paris?"
Emily shook her head with a mischievous grin, "Nope, I said you'd have to ask Harrison himself."
The Switch
I giggled and took another sip of my champagne.
Emily was doing an amazing job of playing me, and I was having a great time watching her work the room.
After another hour of mingling, we decided it was time to head home.
We said our goodbyes and made our way to the car.
As we drove, Emily kept adjusting my tie that had gotten slightly crooked.
I struggled with the hem of my dress that had bunched up under the seatbelt.
When we got home, we walked into the house and caught our reflections in the hallway mirror.
Emily was wearing my navy suit, complete with a tie and a fake mustache.
I was wearing her red cocktail dress and heels that pinched my toes.
Emily unclipped the tie and handed it to me before kicking off her heels.
The Switch
I struggled to get the zipper on the back of my dress undone, while Emily effortlessly shed my suit jacket and dress shirt.
She walked over to help me, carefully untangling me from the fabric.
She was careful not to snag the expensive borrowed jewelry I had on, and I was grateful for her help.
My feet ached from the heels, and removing the shapewear felt like being released from a cage.
Emily walked into the bathroom to wipe off her fake stubble with makeup remover, while I battled with my false eyelashes in front of the bedroom mirror.
When we were both back in our normal clothes, Emily handed me her silk nightgown - the one she usually wore - and took my striped pajamas for herself.
Emily smirked as she slipped into my pajamas, "You know, I think I could get used to being you."
I laughed, pulling the nightgown over my head, "And I might just enjoy being you for a while longer."
She raised an eyebrow, her eyes twinkling with mischief, "Maybe we should switch lives more often; it seems like we make a pretty good team."
The Switch
I sat down on the bed and massaged my sore feet.
Emily walked into the bedroom, her face now clean of any makeup.
She was still grinning as she flopped down next to me.
"You know what would be hilarious?"
Emily asked, her voice full of mischief.
I looked up from my toes and raised an eyebrow in question.
"We should do this for the charity gala next month."
I was intrigued by her suggestion and leaned forward to hear more.
Emily pulled out her phone and showed me the invitation.
"Think about it - everyone loved us tonight, and no one suspected a thing. It'll be fun!"
I nodded slowly, already thinking of which of Emily's dresses would work best for the occasion.
