I was shocked when I found out that my girlfriend and my best friend are both superheroes.
More shocking was the fact that they didn't tell me about it.
I never thought that my sweet Evelyn would be hiding something big like this from me.
Evelyn Stone is The Starlight Guardian, and Andrea is The Celestial Dancer.
They have been keeping their identities from me for the past three years we met.
I don't know if I should be happy that they are saving the world or hurt because they didn't tell me.
It's been a week since I found out, and I haven't talked to them.
I was still trying to process everything.
"Hey Lily," Evelyn greeted me as she sat beside me.
We were in the same seat for the past three years since we met.
I looked at her, and it pained me to see her beautiful face.
For the past few days, I have been having nightmares about her getting hurt.
I know it's because I'm worried about her safety.
She has been hiding her true identity from me, so what if she gets hurt?
"I miss you," she said, looking at me with sad eyes.
I didn't tell her to stop because I didn't want her to touch me.
If she did, I wouldn't know what to do.
"I miss you too."
I lied, but it was too harsh to tell her the truth.

She reached out, her hand hovering between us.
I looked at her hand and then back at her face.
Her eyes were filled with hope and regret.
I hesitated for a moment before I took her hand.
"I wanted to tell you," she whispered.
I studied her face, trying to see if she was telling the truth.
She looked sincere, but I didn't know if I could trust her anymore.
We sat there in silence for a few minutes.
I sighed, feeling the tension ease a bit.
"I just wish you had told me," I murmured.
She nodded, her shoulders slumping in relief.
I leaned forward and wrapped my arms around her waist.

In that moment, I realized I still loved her, secrets and all.

I woke up to the sound of my alarm blaring in my ear.
I groggily reached over and turned it off.
I sat up in bed and rubbed my eyes.
It was still dark outside, but I knew I had to get up.
I had a big day ahead of me.
I got out of bed and started getting ready for the day.
I showered and dressed in a pair of jeans and a t-shirt.
Then I headed downstairs to the kitchen to make some coffee.
As I was pouring the coffee into my cup, I heard a knock at the door.
I walked over and looked through the peephole.
It was Evelyn.
I took a deep breath and opened the door.

"Hey," she said softly.
"Hey," I replied, stepping back to let her in.
We stood there awkwardly for a few minutes before she finally spoke up.
"I wanted to talk to you about what happened," she said, looking down at her feet.
"I'm listening," I said, sitting down on the couch.
She sat down next to me, her eyes searching mine for any sign of forgiveness.
"I know I should have told you sooner," she said, her voice filled with regret.
"But I was scared. I didn't want you to get hurt."
"I understand," I said, nodding my head.
"But no more secrets. Okay?"
She nodded eagerly, her grip on my hand tightening as if she were afraid to let go. We spent the next few hours talking about everything that had happened.
It was a lot to take in, but I was determined to make things right between us.
As the sun began to rise over the horizon, we stood up and looked at each other.
We were both tired but hopeful for the future.
I reached out and took her hand, feeling a sense of peace wash over me as our palms touched.
We walked over to the door and looked out at the brightening world outside.
The sky was filled with hues of pink and orange, promising a new beginning for us both.

I sat across from her in the dimly lit café, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee filling the air.
We had agreed to meet here, away from prying eyes, to talk things through.
Her fingers fidgeted with the edge of her cup, a small gesture that betrayed her nerves.
I watched her closely, noting the slight tremor in her voice as she apologized again for keeping secrets from me.
I nodded my head, acknowledging her words but not yet fully accepting them.
Slowly, I reached across the table and placed my hand over hers.
She looked up at me, surprise flickering in her eyes.
"We'll figure this out together," I said, feeling the weight of uncertainty lift just a little.
