I am Prince Edward, the eldest son of King Edward II.
My father, the king, wanted to conquer India.
He sent me on a mission to do so, but I did otherwise.
Instead, I united the two factions fighting in India.
The whole story started here...
In the early 18th Century, my father decided to conquer India.
He sent his soldiers to fight the Indians.
They won several battles and advanced into India.
However, they were stopped by two factions fighting in India.
The Red Moon faction led by Queen Sujata’s nephew and the Golden Sun faction led by General Singhania’s daughter Nalani.
Both factions sought control over the kingdom and resources.
They fought for years, causing famine and death in the land.
My father planned to attack them while they were weak.
He sent soldiers ahead of him to fight the factions.
They won several battles but still couldn’t defeat the factions completely.
My father decided to go himself and lead the war against India.
Before he left, my mother, Queen Catherine, warned him not to do so.
She said that conquering India might not be as easy as he thought.
But he didn't listen to her.
I was supposed to follow him and help him conquer India.
But I had other plans in mind.
I wanted to do otherwise and unite the two factions fighting in India instead of conquering it.
The Sorrow Of India
I spent days observing the Red Moon faction's fortress from a hidden camp in the dense jungle.
Through my spyglass, I counted their artillery positions and watched their patrol patterns.
A local informant, a merchant who traded with both sides, brought word of dwindling food supplies within their walls.
At night, I intercepted messages between their commanders, learning of growing dissent in their ranks.
A captured scout revealed the location of their water source - a vulnerable river crossing two miles east.
The Sorrow Of India
When I spotted Queen Sujata's nephew arguing violently with his generals on the ramparts, I knew their unity was fracturing.
I decided it was time to act, not with force, but with a proposal for peace.
I gathered my most trusted advisors in my tent.
Lieutenant Richards spread our detailed maps across the wooden table, while Captain Thompson brought in a small chest containing glass vials filled with a colorless liquid.
"This is a toxin that will cause fever and weakness but not death," Thompson explained, his voice steady.
"It will incapacitate their forces without causing permanent harm."
I felt a knot in my stomach as I watched them work.
The thought of poisoning an enemy's water supply went against everything I had been taught about honor and warfare.
But I knew it was a necessary step to bring an end to this bloody conflict.
Richards reached for one of the vials, ready to carry out our plan.
But I grabbed his wrist, stopping him.
"No," I said, pushing the poison away from us.
The Sorrow Of India
"We are not my father. We will not stoop to such tactics."
The merchant had told me of the starving children within the fortress walls, and I could not bring myself to condemn them to such a fate. Instead, I took up my pen and wrote a letter to Queen Sujata's nephew, requesting a meeting to discuss terms for peace.
I sealed the message with wax and sent it off with a small group of soldiers, who would deliver it to the enemy lines under a flag of truce.
As we waited for a response, we heard the distant sound of horns announcing the arrival of more Joshua forces.
They were coming to join us in our fight against the Red Moon faction.
The Sorrow Of India
But I knew that this was not what they were meant for.
"Edward, are you sure about this?" Lieutenant Richards asked, his brow furrowed with concern.
"Yes, Richards," I replied firmly, "if we continue down the path of war, we become no better than those we seek to defeat."
Captain Thompson nodded slowly, adding, "And if they refuse your offer of peace?"
