It was a hot summer day.
As I walked back to my apartment after grocery shopping, I was exhausted.
All I wanted to do was go home, put the air conditioner on full blast, and take a nap until my husband came home.

I then looked down and saw that I was only living on the third floor, so I decided to just walk up.

I led him to the couch, its soft cushions inviting, and offered him a seat before heading to the kitchen to fetch cold drinks.
As I poured the iced tea into glasses, the clinking of ice cubes against the glass was the only sound breaking the silence.
I felt a flutter of excitement in my chest, a thrill that I couldn't explain, as I returned to the living room with the drinks.
Handing him a glass, I noticed how his eyes lingered on me, taking in every detail of my appearance.
