At the foot of a mountain, there is a farm.
The farm is located at the edge of the valley, and the path leading to it is winding and narrow.
However, the farm itself is very large, with fields extending as far as the eye can see.
There are various plants, and animals such as cows, horses, and chickens.
A stream runs through the farm, and there is even a fish pond built.
The waterwheel is turning slowly, and the hot springs are steaming.
In front of the house, there is a grand aquarium with all kinds of fish swimming inside.
This farm belongs to me, Xing Bao.
I have lived here all my life.
Not many people know about this farm, but somehow people who need help find their way here.
Today, I stood at the pier watching the ferry slowly come to a stop.
A young girl with a wide-brimmed hat on her head and a large backpack on her back got off the ferry and looked around in puzzlement.
She seemed to be lost and had no idea where to go.
I walked up to her and asked in a gentle voice, "Little girl, are you looking for something?"
The young girl turned to me in surprise and then looked me up and down before asking, "Is this Xing Bao's place?"
I nodded slightly, "Yes."
She let out a breath of relief and replied hurriedly, "Thank you! I've finally found it!"
The Secret Valley
I led the young girl to my house, and Wu Ling had already prepared hot tea for us.
The young girl's hands trembled as she held the teacup, her eyes fixed on the steam rising from it.
I asked her, "What brings you here?"
The young girl looked up at me and said, "My name is Lin Lin. I come from a small village in India."
"India?"
I was slightly surprised.
"Yes, India," Lin Lin nodded, "My village is located in a remote area, and we have been living there for generations. The land is fertile, and we have grown crops such as rice and wheat. We also raise livestock like cows and sheep."
She paused and continued, "But in recent years, the weather has become more erratic. The rain has become scarce, and the crops are not growing well. The livestock are also getting sick."
I listened attentively to Lin Lin's words.
She seemed to be telling me about some kind of natural disaster that had affected her village.
The Secret Valley
I asked her gently, "What happened?"
Lin Lin took a deep breath before continuing, "Our village is surrounded by mountains, and the soil is very fertile. But in recent years, the soil has turned to dust. The crops wither before they can bear fruit. The wells have dried up, and the livestock are not producing milk."
She paused again before adding, "My father is the village elder. He heard that your farm is very successful even in harsh conditions. So he sent me here to ask for your help." I was surprised by Lin Lin's words.
I didn't know that my farm was so famous.
I asked her gently, "What do you need help with?"
Lin Lin reached into her backpack and pulled out a cloth-wrapped bundle.
She carefully unfolded it and revealed a handful of grey-brown earth.
She handed it to me and said, "This is our soil."
I took the soil from Lin Lin's hand and examined it closely.
The soil was dry and crumbly between my fingers.
The Secret Valley
It didn't look like it could grow anything.
Lin Lin continued, "We have tried everything to make our soil fertile again. We have used fertilizers and pesticides, but nothing seems to work."
I examined the soil in my hand.
It was grayish-brown in color, and it crumbled easily between my fingers.
Lin Lin watched me anxiously as I examined the soil.
Even Wu Ling, who was standing behind me, frowned as he looked at the soil.
This soil was dead.
There was no life left in it.
I walked to the wooden shelf and took out an old scroll.
I spread it out on the wooden table and examined it carefully.
The scroll was very old, and the ink had faded over time.
However, I could still make out the drawings of special mountain herbs on it.
The Secret Valley
These herbs were known to have the power to rejuvenate barren earth.
They grew only in the highest peaks of the mountains and were carefully tended by reclusive healers who knew their value.
Lin Lin leaned forward to get a better look at the scroll.
She seemed to be very interested in what I had to say. I pointed to one of the drawings on the scroll and said, "These are special mountain herbs. They have been used for centuries to restore fertility to barren land."
Lin Lin's eyes widened with excitement as she listened to what I had to say.
She asked eagerly, "Where can we find these herbs?"
I smiled at her enthusiasm and replied, "The herbs grow only in the highest peaks of the mountains. They are carefully tended by reclusive healers who know their value."
Lin Lin nodded thoughtfully as she listened to what I had to say.
She seemed to be considering her options carefully before she spoke again.
"I will go to the mountains and find these herbs," she said firmly.
I looked at her in surprise and asked, "Are you sure? The journey will be dangerous."
But Lin Lin was determined.
She replied resolutely, "I must do this for my village. We need these herbs to restore our land."
I couldn't help but admire Lin Lin's determination.
She was willing to risk everything for her village, even if it meant facing danger alone. I decided that we should go together to find these herbs.
I knew that the journey would be difficult, but I also knew that we had to do this for Lin Lin's village.
So I agreed with her plan and said, "Very well. We will go together to find these herbs."
Lin Lin's face lit up with happiness when she heard my words.
She thanked me sincerely and promised that she would do everything she could to help us succeed on our mission.
Wu Ling, who had been quietly listening, finally spoke up, "If you're going to the mountains, you'll need more than just determination."
The Secret Valley
Lin Lin nodded, her eyes filled with resolve, "I understand. What else do we need?"
Wu Ling glanced at me before replying, "You'll need guidance from someone who knows the terrain well. I will accompany you both."
