Aiden
I never imagined I would find a portal in my backyard.
I certainly never thought it would lead to a world of dragons.
But the most unbelievable thing?
The egg I found hatched, and I bonded with a dragon.
Then, my friends did too.
We formed a secret club to protect our dragons and ourselves from evil people who controlled other dragons.
Little did we know, this was only the beginning.
We started walking toward the hill.
As we got closer, we noticed something strange on the ground.
"What is that?" Lily asked, pointing at the strange thing.
As we got even closer, it looked like it could be a door!
But it was covered in dirt, so we couldn't tell for sure.
"How long has that door been there? I don't remember seeing it before," Ethan said.
"I don't know. Let's open it and find out," I said, curiously.
We tried to open the door, but we couldn't because it was covered in so much dirt.
We dug and dug until we finally uncovered the door.
Once we opened it, we saw a tunnel leading down into darkness.
"This must lead to the dragon world," Lily said, excitedly.
"How do we know that?"
Ethan asked, uncertainly.
"We are going to have to go down there to find out," I said, bravely.
The Secret Dragon Riders
"Let's go," Lily said, following me down the tunnel.
We walked and walked until we reached a large cavern.
The walls were covered in crystals.
They reflected the light of our phones, casting colorful shadows.
Suddenly, we heard a strange noise.
We turned to see our dragons flying towards us.
They were so beautiful!
I was amazed by how fast they could fly.
When they landed, we noticed that they were bigger than before.
They looked like they had grown a few feet since we last saw them.
The Secret Dragon Riders
"Wow! Look at them," I said, impressed.
"They're so big now," Lily said, equally impressed.
"I know. I've never seen anything like this before," Ethan said, awestruck.
"Me neither. It's amazing," I agreed.
As we watched, Ember, my dragon, stretched her wings and flapped them a few times.
She let out a small roar and then took off into the air.
The others followed suit, flapping their wings and taking off into the air.
They flew around the cavern for a while, playing and chasing each other. "Look at that!" I exclaimed as Ember flew by me with her scales shimmering in the dim light of the cavern.
"She's so beautiful!"
Lily said, watching Coral fly by her with her scales shining too.
"And look at Terra. She's so fast!"
Ethan said as Terra flew past him with her scales glinting in the light.
The dragons continued to fly around for a while until they started to get tired and land back on the ground beside us.
As we looked at them, we noticed something strange happening to them.
Ember's body began to glow slightly, and she let out a small roar.
Then, she opened her mouth and breathed out a stream of small flames that danced across the crystals on the ground in front of her.
"Wow! Did you see that?"
I asked my friends excitedly.
"She breathed fire," Lily said in amazement.
"But it wasn't much fire," Ethan added.
The Secret Dragon Riders
"Yeah, but it was still fire," I said defensively.
"I think Ember is just getting used to being able to breathe fire. She'll get better at it over time," Lily said reassuringly.
Suddenly, Coral let out a small splash of water from her mouth that hit the crystals on the ground in front of her.
"Look at Coral. She breathed water," Lily said excitedly.
"She's getting used to being able to breathe water too," Ethan said.
"I think Ember is trying to tell us something," I said, looking at Ember.
The Secret Dragon Riders
"What do you mean?"
Lily asked.
"Well, she's been looking at those carvings on the wall over there for a while now. I think she's trying to tell us something about them," I said, pointing to the carvings on the wall that Ember was looking at.
"Let's go see what they are," Ethan said, walking over to the wall with the carvings on it.
As we got closer, we could see that they were ancient carvings of different dragons performing various abilities.
Some of them were breathing ice, while others were manipulating the earth.
Ember nudged me with her nose and looked up at one of the carvings that showed a fire dragon healing wounds with its flames.
The Secret Dragon Riders
I reached out and touched the carving, and suddenly, the crystal nearest to us began to glow red.
Ember's scales lit up in response, and she let out a small roar.
Lily noticed something similar happening with Coral near some water-themed carvings on the wall.
She touched one of them, and the crystal nearest to her began to glow blue.
Coral's scales lit up in response, and she let out a small splash of water from her mouth. Meanwhile, Ethan noticed that Terra was looking at some earth-themed carvings on the wall.
He touched one of them, and the crystal nearest to him began to glow brown.
Terra's scales lit up in response, and she let out a small roar as she manipulated the earth in front of her.
We realized that these crystals were teaching our dragons how to use their innate powers.
We spent the next hour practicing with our dragons, using the crystals to help them learn how to use their abilities more effectively.
As we practiced, we noticed that our dragons were getting better and better at using their powers.
The Secret Dragon Riders
Ember was able to breathe more fire than before, and Coral was able to control her water better than before.
Terra was also able to manipulate the earth more effectively than before.
After an hour or so, we decided it was time to head back home.
We guided our dragons back through the tunnel until we reached our backyards again. As we walked back through the tunnel, we couldn't help but feel a sense of wonder and excitement about all that we had discovered today.
