Luisa
She is a 7th grade student with a passion for sports and music. She is energetic, selfconscious, and determined. Luisa excels in track and field events like the 400 meters. She struggles with selfimage, often feeling like she doesn't fit the typical girl stereotype. Her friends Charlotte and Christhie support her, and she finds herself drawn to Noah, whose presence makes her nervous yet intrigued.
Charlotte
She is Luisa's best friend since kindergarten. She is outgoing, confident, and blunt. Charlotte plays basketball and enjoys social media. She encourages Luisa to attend social events and occasionally teases her about her appearance. Despite their differences, Charlotte and Luisa have a strong bond, sharing secrets and supporting each other through school challenges.
Christhie
She is another of Luisa's best friends from kindergarten. She is creative, quiet, and supportive. Christhie enjoys art and dance, often helping Luisa with her outfits. Her reserved nature provides a balance to Luisa's extroverted tendencies. Christhie also participates in track events like the shot put, contributing to the group's dynamic.
I was running fast, trying to beat my record in the 400 meters event.
I already held the record in my category at our school's annual track and field competition.
I didn't want anyone to take that away from me.
When I crossed the finish line, I was gasping for air.
My best friends, Charlotte and Christhie, were already there, waiting for me.
They were also my teammates in some of the events.
Christhie was good in the shot put while Charlotte was a basketball player and joined the long jump event.
I was good in running, hence, I joined the 100, 200, and 400 meters run events.
"Wow! Luisa! You did it again! Your time was lesser than your previous record," Christhie said excitedly.
"Yeah! You're so fast! You're already gasping for air," Charlotte added.
I smiled at them but didn't say anything because I was still catching my breath.
"Let's go to the canteen to buy some food," Charlotte suggested.
I nodded in agreement.
As we walked toward the canteen, I couldn't help but think about another thing that I loved just as much as running.
It was music!
Playing the keyboard was my hobby and I was good at it.
I also played other musical instruments like the piano, guitar, and drums.
While walking to the canteen, I pulled out my phone from my pocket.
I opened the messaging app and showed them the new message from our orchestra group chat.
"Hey guys, I have an orchestra practice today after class. We're going to play this song," I said while showing them the sheet music that was sent to us by our conductor.
My fingers were still trembling because of my run.
Charlotte and Christhie looked at the sheet music and Christhie said, "Wow! This is a nice piece."
"Yeah, I know. The saxophone part is really beautiful," I said.
"Is Noah going to be there too?" Charlotte asked me.
I gulped and nodded.
"Yeah, he's going to play the saxophone part," I replied.
"Oh, so you're going to see him again," Charlotte teased me.
I blushed and looked down.
"Stop it, Charlotte! You're embarrassing her," Christhie said while laughing.
I sighed and continued explaining the song to them.
"This piece is a bit complicated because of the interweaving parts of the saxophone and keyboard. The piano will play the accompaniment while the guitar will play the rhythm. The drums will provide the beat and the bass will add depth to the music."
Charlotte smirked at me while Christhie examined the notes on my phone.
After a few minutes, Christhie looked up at me and said, "Wow, this is really a beautiful piece. I love it!"
"Thanks! Do you want to come watch our practice later?" I asked them. Charlotte raised an eyebrow at me and said, "Oh, you want us to witness your musical date with Noah?"
I blushed again and quickly shook my head.
"No! It's not like that! We're just going to practice together as a group," I protested.
"Oh, sure! Whatever you say," Charlotte teased me again.
Christhie just smiled at me and said, "Of course, we'll come watch your practice. We want to see how good you are."
I stuffed my track clothes into my gym bag while Charlotte continued teasing me about Noah.
I rolled my eyes at her and checked the time on my phone.
It was already 11:40 am.
Orchestra practice would start in twenty minutes.
My stomach growled loudly, reminding me that I hadn't eaten anything since breakfast.
"Let's go to the canteen before it gets crowded," Christhie suggested.
"Yeah, let's go," I agreed.
But Charlotte suddenly slowed down her pace.
"What are you doing?" I asked her.
"I'm just acting like you when you're with Noah," she replied with a smirk.
I grabbed her arm and pulled her along faster.
"Come on, let's go. I'm starving!" I said.
Charlotte pretended to be shy and slow, mimicking how she thought I would act around Noah.
I laughed at her silly impression and pulled her along even faster. The hallway was starting to fill up with other students who were also heading to lunch.
The noise level increased as everyone chatted excitedly about their plans for the weekend.
"Hey, Luisa," Christhie said, lowering her voice as we reached the canteen.
"Did you hear about the surprise announcement for the music festival next month?"
I shook my head, curious. "No, what is it?"
