Kazuki Sato
He is a high school student with average grades. He is curious, humorous and carefree. Kazuki's life changes when his cousin Akira disappears during a family gathering. Akira's sudden vanishing leads to a mysterious stat window appearing. Intrigued, Kazuki discovers that Akira's Spatial Exchange skill allows her to switch worlds. In a playful and unexpected turn of events, Kazuki finds himself transported to an isekai world, identical to his cousin's.
Akira Sato
She is Kazuki's cousin and a university student studying psychology. She is intelligent, adventurous and spirited. Akira possesses the Spatial Exchange skill, which allows her to switch between worlds. Her sudden disappearance triggers the events leading to Kazuki's own isekai experience. Though she remains in the original world while attempting to navigate it, her connection with Kazuki remains strong through spatial means.
Hikaru Sato
He is another cousin with unique stats like Magic Resistance. He is calm, analytical and enigmatic. Hikaru remains silent yet observant throughout the events, choosing not to engage except when necessary. His presence in the stat window hints at his potential role in connecting spatial means across family members.
It was a beautiful day with the sun shining brightly in the sky.
I, Kazuki Sato, was having dinner with my family and cousins.
We were all sitting at the dining table when suddenly one of my cousins, Akina Sato, vanished into thin air right before our eyes.
We were all shocked and confused, not knowing what had just happened.
A stat window appeared in front of us, but we couldn't see each other's stats or skills.
We could only see our own.
I was able to see my stats, and they were as follows:
1. **Level**: 1
2. **Strength**: 10
3. **Agility**: 10
4. **Intelligence**: 10
5. **Luck**: 5
6. **Skills**: None
7. Spatial Exchange (Cooldown: 5 minutes)
My cousin Akina had the same skill, Spatial Exchange, with the same cooldown time of 5 minutes.
The only difference was that she had a higher Luck value of 15.
This skill allowed us to switch between different worlds or spaces.
We were all confused and had no idea what was going on or how to use this skill.
We couldn't even see each other's stats or skills, only our own.
We were all trying to figure out what had just happened and how to get back to our normal world.
I lean back in my dining chair, ignoring the chaos of my family's panicked voices around me.
The translucent blue stat window hovers steadily before my eyes, as if it's waiting for me to do something.
I tap each number experimentally, but nothing happens.
When I touch "Spatial Exchange," the text pulses once and a small "i" icon appears in the corner.
I press it with a trembling finger.
A new window expands, showing the skill's mechanics in excruciating detail:
Transfer consciousness between parallel worlds.
Warning: Physical body remains in origin world.
My heart races as I notice a dim "Tutorial" button at the bottom of the window.
"Wait, Kazuki," my brother Yuto says, his voice barely above a whisper.
"If Akina's body is still here, then where did her consciousness go?"
I glance at him, realization dawning. "You mean she could be in another world right now?"
While everyone discusses the possibility of Akina's consciousness being transported to another world, I notice something odd about my stat window.
The numbers are crystal clear for my cousins, but mine are question marks.
I tap on each one frantically, trying different combinations, but nothing reveals the actual values.
My brother Tsubasa leans over to compare our stats.
I quickly minimize the window and rub my eyes.
"I have a headache," I say, hoping he'll leave me alone.
"Maybe we should call the police," my mother suggests, her voice trembling slightly.
"But what if they don't believe us?" my father counters.
"We need to figure out what happened to Akina first."
My cousins start theorizing about Akina's disappearance, but I can't focus.
My mind races with possibilities.
Could my unknown stats mean I'm different from the others?
I glance at the clock on the wall - 5 minutes have passed since Akina vanished.
I decide to test the Spatial Exchange skill.
Standing in my dining room, I take a deep breath and focus on activating Spatial Exchange.
The world around me blurs, and I feel a strange sensation wash over me.
When my vision clears, Akina stands in my place, looking disoriented but unharmed.
My consciousness is transported to a void, and then I find myself standing in the middle of a cobblestone street lined with thatched-roof buildings.
The sky above is painted with hues of crimson and gold, the exact shade of sunset I remember from my childhood drawings.
This is unmistakably the RPG world I designed in middle school - from the specific shade of the sunset to the distinctive architecture of the central tower looming in the distance.
I open my stat window again, and this time, I notice something odd: where everyone else has level numbers, mine shows only a dash.
I lean against a weathered stone wall, trying to process the surreal surroundings.
Opening my stat window again, I study the anomalies more closely.
Where others have clear job titles like "Student" or "Athlete," mine displays "???".
Below that, instead of basic skills like "Cooking" or "Athletics," there's only one entry: "Console."
It has no description, no numbers, and no explanation.
I tap on it repeatedly, but the system responds with error messages.
A merchant passes by, hawking potions that could reveal hidden abilities.
"Excuse me," I call out to the merchant, my voice tinged with urgency.
"Do you have anything for someone with... unusual stats?"
The merchant pauses, eyeing me curiously. "Unusual, you say? Perhaps you're in need of a 'Revelation Elixir'—it unveils what lies beneath the surface."
I approach the merchant's stall, my hand clutching the dusty copper coin I found near the wall.
The elderly shopkeeper's eyes light up as I place it on his wooden counter.
He exchanges it for a small vial of shimmering blue liquid.
"Drink this, and the truth will reveal itself," he assures me, his voice filled with a mix of mysticism and salesmanship.
I take the vial, my fingers trembling slightly as I uncork it.
The Revelation Elixir has a faint scent of herbs and something metallic.
I bring it to my lips and drink it in one swift motion.
The liquid tastes like stale mint tea mixed with an aftertaste of iron.
I wait, staring intently at my stat window, hoping for a change.
But the question marks remain, taunting me with their mystery.
The merchant scratches his head, clearly puzzled by the elixir's ineffectiveness.
"This has never happened before," he mutters to himself. "What do you mean?" my voice rises, laced with frustration.
"I've never seen someone who couldn't be revealed by the elixir."
"Could it be that you're not from this world?" the merchant suggests, his eyes narrowing with curiosity.
I hesitate, the thought both terrifying and exhilarating.
"Then how do I get back?" I ask, my voice barely a whisper.
"Ah, that's a question for the sages," he replies, his expression turning sympathetic.
"But for now, you might want to try another elixir."
I sigh, feeling a mix of disappointment and desperation.
"Fine, give me another one."
The merchant hands me a new vial, this time with a slightly different hue.
"Drink this, and it might reveal something new."
I take the vial and drink it down, hoping for any kind of breakthrough.
But as the liquid touches my tongue, I realize it tastes exactly the same as the first one.
I look at the merchant, my eyes narrowing in suspicion.
"Did you just give me the same thing?"
He shrugs sheepishly.
"Well, I thought maybe it needed a second chance."
I shake my head, frustration boiling over.
"You're wasting my time," I mutter under my breath as I walk away from the stall.
The sun dips lower in the sky, casting long shadows between the buildings.
The cobblestone street stretches out before me like a winding path into the unknown. As I wander aimlessly, my mind consumed by thoughts of finding a way back home, I notice a group of adventurers passing by.
They're equipped with swords and shields, their armor glinting in the fading light.
Their banter is casual and familiar—a mix of jokes and boasts that echo through the air.
For a moment, I forget about my predicament and watch them with curiosity.
Their movements are fluid and natural, as if they've been together for years.
It's almost like watching a scene from one of my games come to life.
But then I remember where I am and how I got here.
I shake my head to clear my thoughts and continue walking down the street.
As I turn a corner, I notice something peculiar: everything around me seems too... familiar.
The architecture of the buildings, the design of the market stalls—it's all eerily reminiscent of how I designed NPCs in my game. The revelation hits me like a ton of bricks: this world isn't just similar to mine; it's identical in every detail.
And then it clicks—the reason why my stats are so different from everyone else's is that I'm not just any player; I'm the creator.
My vision blurs suddenly, and I feel a strange sensation wash over me—the same feeling as when I activated Spatial Exchange back in my family's dining room.
Back in the dining room, my family crowds around me, demanding answers.
Mom grabs my shoulders, checking if I'm okay while Dad stands nearby with his arms crossed.
Tsubasa leans against the table, her eyes wide with curiosity.
Natsuki and Hikaru hover near the edge of the room, their expressions a mix of concern and suspicion.
"Where were you?" my mom asks, her voice filled with worry.
"You just disappeared!"
I take a deep breath, trying to gather my thoughts.
"I found myself in a town that looked like something out of a medieval fantasy novel," I explain.
"There were cobblestone streets and merchants selling potions."
Tsubasa cuts in, her voice filled with excitement.
"What about your stats? Did you see them?"
I hesitate for a moment before answering.
"Not really. The town was too fascinating. I saw a beautiful sunset and buildings that looked like they were straight out of a history book."
Natsuki interrupts, her voice filled with anticipation.
"Did you see Akina there?"
Tsubasa frowns, clearly disappointed.
"That's it? You didn't see anything else?"
I shake my head, feeling a bit guilty.
"I'm sorry. I was too distracted by everything around me."
Just then, Akina reappears in the room, looking just as confused as I felt when I returned.
"What... what happened?" she asks, her voice shaking slightly.
"I was here, and then I wasn't. And now I'm back."
My mom rushes to her side, checking if she's okay.
"You're safe now," she reassures Akina.
"We're all here together."
But before we can even process what just happened, the Spatial Exchange skill activates again, and I feel myself being pulled back into the other world.
This time, however, Akina disappears from the dining room.
I look at my stat window again; the question marks are still there, but this time the Spatial Exchange skill shows a 5-minute cooldown timer.
It seems that only one of us can exist in this world at any given time.
When I reappear in the dining room once more, my family stares at me with a mix of confusion and concern.
"Where were you this time?" my mom asks, her voice filled with worry.
"I saw a town that looked like it belonged in a fantasy novel," I explain again.
"And then Akina disappeared."
Tsubasa narrows her eyes at me.
"What about your stats? Did you see them?"
I sigh, feeling frustrated by her persistence.
"Not really. The town was too distracting." Tsubasa crosses her arms, clearly unsatisfied with my answer.
"You need to focus next time," she advises sternly.
"Your stats are important."
I nod reluctantly, knowing that she's right.
But for now, all I can think about is the ticking cooldown timer on Spatial Exchange—and how soon I'll be able to switch back and find Akina again. "What do you mean you can't tell me about your stats?"
Tsubasa demands, her voice rising in frustration.
I shrug nonchalantly, trying to deflect her questions.
"Look, they're not important right now," I say casually.
"What matters is figuring out how to control this Spatial Exchange thing."
Tsubasa narrows her eyes at me suspiciously.
"You're hiding something," she accuses.
"I can tell."
I roll my eyes dismissively.
"Oh come on, don't be so paranoid," I reply lightly.
Tsubasa's eyes narrow, her suspicion unwavering.
"Then why do you keep avoiding the question?" she presses, her tone sharp.
I sigh, realizing I can't keep dodging forever.
"Look, I'll tell you eventually," I promise.
"But for now, let's just focus on getting through this dinner, okay?"
Tsubasa huffs, clearly unsatisfied with my answer.
But she lets it go, for now.
I sit at the dining table, trying to act normal despite the strange events unfolding around me.
Mom brings out a steaming pot of green tea, carefully pouring it into delicate ceramic cups.
The aroma fills the room, a comforting familiarity amidst the chaos.
As I lift my cup to take a sip, my phone buzzes in my pocket.
I pull it out, seeing a message notification from Akina.
My heart skips a beat as I open it.
"Akina: I'm in a church in some fantasy world. There was a glowing orb that showed everyone's stats... and they all freaked out when they saw mine."
My eyes widen as I read her words.
"What do you mean?"
I type back quickly.
"Akina: 'I reached out to this radiant sphere, and suddenly everyone's abilities were laid bare for all to see, and mine... well, they were all at high. The looks they gave me were as if I was some kind of hero, and so did the rest of the family stats, however yours is 1 all accrose the board and jobless, people started to laugh at your stats'"
I sit at the dining table, my eyes fixed on the text from Akina.
The glowing orb revealed everyone's stats, and they all freaked out when they saw hers.
I can only imagine the looks on their faces when they saw her stats, all at high levels.
And then there was mine... all 1s and jobless.
I can almost hear the laughter echoing through the room.
My family's chatter fades into the background as I stare at my phone, trying to make sense of it all.
Tsubasa leans over, her voice cutting through my thoughts.
"So, did you see your stats?"
I glance up, feeling a flush rise to my cheeks.
"No, not really," I reply, trying to brush it off.
She raises an eyebrow, clearly not buying it.
"You're still hiding something," she accuses.
I sigh, taking a sip of my tea to avoid her gaze.
"Just drop it, okay?"
But she presses on, her curiosity piqued.
"Come on, tell me. What did you see?"
I set my cup down, meeting her gaze head-on.
"Nothing important," I say firmly.
"Now can we please just focus on dinner?"
She opens her mouth to protest, but Natsuki intervenes.
"Let's not push it," he says softly.
"We're all still trying to wrap our heads around this whole thing."
Tsubasa nods reluctantly, turning back to her own plate. I take a deep breath, grateful for the reprieve.
But as I glance around the table, I notice Hikaru watching me with a curious expression.
I quickly look away, not wanting to draw more attention to myself.
Akina: 'What do you mean by "all 1s and jobless?"'
Me: 'You said that everyone's stats were revealed by the glowing orb. And mine... well, they were all at level 1.'
Akina: 'Oh... I see. So that's what you meant.'
Me: 'Yeah. And jobless too.'
Akina: 'Jobless? What does that mean?'
Me: 'It means I don't have a job or a role in this world.'
Akina: 'Oh... I didn't know that.'
Me: 'Yeah. It's kind of embarrassing actually.'
Akina: 'Don't be embarrassed! It's not your fault.'
Me: 'Thanks Akina. You're always so kind.'
Akina: 'Of course! We're friends after all.'
While everyone is distracted discussing Akina's texts, I excuse myself from the table.
"I'm not feeling too well," I say, standing up.
"The spatial transfers are making me nauseous."
My mom looks concerned.
"Are you sure you're okay?"
I nod.
"Yeah, I just need to use the bathroom."
I walk away from the table, heading towards the bathroom.
Once I'm inside, I lock the door and take a deep breath.
I pull out my phone and tap on the mysterious "Console" skill again.
This time, a translucent window appears in front of me, similar to a programming interface I used while creating my RPG.
My hands shake slightly as I type experimental commands into the window.
I'm not sure if this will work, but I have to try.
I enter a simple line of code, testing if I can modify my own parameters. A few seconds later, the code executes, and I see a change in my stat window.
My job title has changed from "???" to "Adventurer."
I can't believe it worked!
But as I hear footsteps approaching outside the bathroom door, I quickly close the window and flush the toilet.
A moment later, Tsubasa knocks on the door.
"Are you okay in there?" she asks, her voice muffled by the door.
"Everything okay in there?" she asks, her voice tinged with suspicion.
"Yeah, just a minute," I reply, trying to sound normal.
I hear her footsteps retreating as she heads back to the dining room.
After a few seconds, I exit the bathroom and make my way to my room.
I close the door behind me and reopen the Console window.
My fingers hover over the translucent keyboard as I remember the coding syntax from my RPG development days.
I start small, typing commands to create basic skills like "Enhanced Strength" and "Basic Magic."
Each time I execute the code, I see a change in my stat window.
My heart races with excitement, but I know I have to keep my parameters modest for now.
I don't want to raise any suspicions.
As I hear footsteps approaching again, I quickly minimize the window and pretend to be resting on my bed.
The door creaks open, and Tsubasa peeks inside.
"You okay?" she asks softly.
"Yeah, just tired," I reply, trying to sound convincing.
She nods and closes the door gently.
As soon as she's gone, I reopen the Console window and continue experimenting with different commands. The translucent window glows softly in front of me, awaiting my next input.
I take a deep breath, focusing on the task at hand.
My fingers move swiftly over the virtual keyboard, typing out lines of code with practiced ease.
Each command is carefully crafted, designed to test the limits of this mysterious skill.
As I work, a sense of familiarity washes over me.
This feels like creating a new character in one of my RPGs—except this time, it's real life.
The thought sends a shiver down my spine.
I enter another line of code, watching as it executes before my eyes.
The words "Skill Creation successful" flash briefly on the screen before disappearing into the void.
A notification pops up in my peripheral vision: "Skill Creation successful."
My heart races as I realize that this is working!
I can actually modify my own abilities!
But as the thrill of newfound power surges through me, a new notification appears: "Warning: Unauthorized modifications detected."
I sit at my desk, heart racing as I type the code for the "Unreachable" skill into the console.
My fingers tremble slightly, but I focus on each line, ensuring accuracy.
As I hit enter, the stat window updates, confirming the addition of the new skill.
I stand up to test it, stepping into the hallway where Tsubasa waits.
Her expression is tense, her eyes fixed intently on me.
She lunges at me playfully, but as she nears, the space between us stretches infinitely.
Time seems to slow for her as I watch in awe.
Her body freezes mid-motion, confusion and frustration etched on her face.
"What did you do?" she demands, her voice strained with disbelief.
I shrug, trying to play it cool. "Just a little something I picked up," I reply, unable to hide my grin.
Her eyes narrow, suspicion mingling with curiosity. "You have to teach me that," she insists, determination in her voice.
After another spatial exchange, I find myself in a grand church hall.
The walls are adorned with intricate stained glass, casting kaleidoscopic patterns on the floor.
A stern-faced priest stands at the front, his eyes fixed on the glowing orb that hovers above his head.
He begins to speak, his voice booming through the hall.
"Welcome, young ones. The time has come for us to determine your placements within our esteemed academy."
He pauses, surveying the room with a discerning gaze.
"The glowing orb has revealed your stats, and we will now proceed to announce your assignments."
He clears his throat, consulting a stack of papers on his desk.
"First up, we have Natsuki. Your stats indicate a high affinity for magic. We have assigned you to the prestigious Silvermist Academy."
Natsuki's face lights up with excitement as he rises from his seat.
"Thank you, sir," he says, bowing respectfully.
The priest nods in approval before moving on to the next student.
"Tsubasa. Your stats show exceptional strength and agility. We have assigned you to the renowned Dragonfire Academy."
Tsubasa beams with pride as she stands up, her eyes shining with anticipation.
"Thank you," she says, her voice filled with gratitude.
The priest continues down the list, announcing each student's assignment based on their unique abilities and strengths.
Finally, he reaches my name.
"And last but not least, we have Hikaru. Your stats... well..."
He pauses, his brow furrowed in confusion as he examines my stat sheet. "It appears that all of your stats are at level 1," he says incredulously.
"And there is no job assigned to you."
He looks up at me with a mixture of disappointment and disdain.
"I'm afraid we cannot enroll you in any of our academies. Your lack of skills makes you unfit for our programs."
My face flushes with embarrassment as I sink lower in my seat.
But before I can respond, Natsuki stands up abruptly.
"What do you mean by that?" he demands sharply.
"Why can't Hikaru be enrolled?"
The priest sighs, his expression unyielding.
"As I said, her stats are subpar. She would only hold back her peers and hinder their progress."
Natsuki's jaw clenches in frustration as he glares at the priest.
"That's unacceptable," he declares firmly.
"If Hikaru can't attend, then neither will I."
The room falls silent, the weight of his words hanging in the air like a challenge.
