I was a wrestler.
A damn good one at that.
I had to be in order to make it in this business.
After all, very few women made it in the wrestling world.
It was a good ol’ boys club and they didn’t let women in easily.
You had to be more than good.
You had to be great.
And even then, you might not make it.
You had to have something special, something that set you apart from everyone else.
I was determined to be that girl.
I was born to do this and I wasn’t going to let anyone get in my way.
I started out on the independent circuit, doing shows here and there around the country.
I traveled from Florida to California, from New York to Texas, wrestling for any promotion that would have me.
I didn’t care if I was opening match or main event, as long as I got my foot in the door, I was happy.
I knew eventually someone would see me and offer me a contract.
It was only a matter of time.
Sure enough after two years of grinding it out on the indies, I got my break.
