After the incident, I spent the next three years training with Master Han.
He taught me the Heavens Path style, which was different from what I had learned before.
Master Han was a strict teacher; he pushed me to my limits every day, but I didn't complain because I knew that this was all for my quest to become strong.
I trained day and night, and sometimes Master Han would take me to the mountains and leave me there alone for days.
He would drop by occasionally to bring food and check on my progress.
This was part of my training; I had to learn to survive on my own.
When I first started training with Master Han, I couldn't even last a day without complaining, but now I could stay there for weeks without any issues.
My body became stronger, and my inner power grew.
I could feel the demon inside of me stirring more often than before.
Master Han taught me how to control it and use it to my advantage when fighting.
He also taught me how to hide my aura and become undetectable when sneaking around or escaping from enemies.
With each passing day, I grew stronger and stronger until I reached the peak of the Heavens Path style.
Master Han looked at me with a satisfied smile; he knew that his life's work was done, and soon he would pass away.
"Yue, you have exceeded my expectations," he said as he patted me on the back.
The Reincarnated Sage
"I am grateful for your guidance, Master Han," I replied humbly.
"Come with me," he said as he led me to a room where he meditated.
The room was dimly lit, with only one candle burning in the corner.
Master Han sat cross-legged on the floor, and I knelt in front of him, my forehead touching the ground.
The incense burned steadily, its smoke curling around us.
I stayed in this position for a long time, not daring to move until Master Han spoke.
"You have learned everything I can teach you," he said finally.
"Now it is time for you to go out into the world and use your skills to protect others."
"Yes, Master Han," I replied, still kneeling before him.
"There is one more thing," he added after a moment of silence.
The Reincarnated Sage
"What is that?" I asked curiously.
He placed his hand on my shoulder and gently lifted me up so that I was sitting next to him.
"Tell me all that I have taught you," he said softly. "Yes, Master Han," I replied obediently.
"The nine stances of Heaven's Path style," I began.
"The first stance is the foundation of all others; it requires balance and control. The second stance is for defense; it protects against attacks from any direction. The third stance is for offense; it allows you to strike quickly and effectively. The fourth stance is for evasion; it helps you avoid dangerous situations. The fifth stance is for concealment; it teaches you how to hide your presence. The sixth stance is for deception; it shows you how to mislead your enemies. The seventh stance is for strategy; it helps you plan and execute your attacks. The eighth stance is for endurance; it prepares you for long battles. And the ninth stance is for sacrifice; it teaches you how to give up everything for the greater good."
The Reincarnated Sage
As I finished speaking, Master Han's grip on my shoulder tightened slightly.
"Yue, the ninth stance is not just about sacrifice," Master Han said, his voice barely above a whisper.
"It is the key to unlocking the true power within you, a power that can either save or destroy."
I looked at him, my heart pounding, and asked, "What do you mean, Master?"
"Come with me," he said as he stood up and walked towards a wooden table in the corner of the room.
He knelt down and pressed a hidden button, causing the floorboards to open, revealing a small compartment underneath.
He reached inside and pulled out an old scroll tied with a faded red ribbon.
The edges of the scroll were frayed, and its surface was yellowed with age.
Master Han's hands trembled slightly as he untied the ribbon and began to unroll the scroll.
The Reincarnated Sage
The characters emerged one by one, each stroke seeming to pulse with an inner light.
My breath caught in my throat as I recognized the ancient script - it was the original manuscript of the Heaven's Path style, written in blood-red ink.
Master Han stopped unrolling the scroll halfway through, his eyes meeting mine with an intensity I had never seen before.
