In this world, there exist "gods."
Not in the sense that they are worshiped deities, but rather, they are the most powerful beings above all others.
They possess unmatched superpowers like time manipulation and space control.
No one knows how they came into existence and hermetically sealed their secrets.
The technology in this world remains at a medieval level.
However, no one finds the need to further develop technology because superhuman abilities prevail over everything.
People with ordinary powers can already wield swords as fast as lightning and run across oceans with ease.
In a village, I was born to an ordinary family.
My parents possessed only mediocre powers.
From a young age, I found myself to be ordinary as well.
Yet I never lost hope.
I exercised day and night until I saw blood, but nothing changed.
I remained ordinary.
As I grew older, I began to lose hope but never gave up entirely.
On my eighteenth birthday, a hidden ability awakened within me.
It was an ability that no one had ever seen before: "destruction."
However, I kept it a complete secret. No one in the world knew of it.
Two years later, with diligent effort, I gained admission to the prestigious Academy of Superpowers.
On the day of my departure, my younger sister Evelyn ran to bid me farewell before my departure.
She was only ten years old but knew of my struggles.
"Brother, you finally made it. I'm so proud of you."

I knelt down to give her one last hug.
Her small arms wrapped tightly around my neck.
The brown hair tickled my face as she buried her head in my shoulder, trying to hide her tears.
Behind her, Mother dabbed at her eyes with her apron while Father stood tall, his weathered hands clasped behind his back.
I pulled back from Evelyn and ruffled her hair.

In the morning sun, I memorized the gold strands in her hair before standing up.
I shouldered my worn leather pack and adjusted the sword at my hip.
With deliberate steps, I walked towards the village gate.
As I crossed the threshold, I vowed silently to return as someone worthy of their pride.
Above me, the wooden arch of the gate creaked in the morning wind.
The gravel path crunched beneath my boots.
Twenty paces out, I paused and turned back for one last look.
Evelyn still stood there between our parents, her small hand raised in farewell.
Mother leaned into Father's shoulder while he kept his arm around her waist.
The morning sun cast long shadows behind them.
I raised my own hand in response, managing a smile despite the lump in my throat.
With one last glance, I resumed walking again.
Their figures grew smaller and smaller until they blended into the village's outline.
As I continued down the path, a voice called out from behind me.
The Reborn God Is My Mentor
"Wait!" It was Father, his voice firm yet filled with an urgency I'd never heard before.
He caught up to me, placed a hand on my shoulder, and whispered, "There's something you need to know about your power—it's connected to the gods."
Father's grip on my shoulder tightened as he continued, his voice dropping to an even lower whisper.
"The gods are beings above all others. No one knows how they came into existence and hermetically sealed their secrets. The technology in this world remains at a medieval level, but no one finds the need to further develop technology because superhuman abilities prevail over everything."
The late afternoon sun cast long shadows across the dirt road that stretched away from our village.
A chill ran down my spine as Father went on, his words growing more ominous with each passing moment.
"Your ability is not ordinary. It is a divine power. It is said that it can destroy the world or create a new one. It is an ability that has been lost for centuries, and many have attempted to find it again."
I could feel the weight of his gaze upon me, heavy with expectation and trepidation.
"I know you've kept it hidden," he continued, his voice filled with a mix of awe and fear.
"But there are those who seek such abilities. They will stop at nothing to obtain them."
The wind began to pick up around us, rustling the leaves of the nearby trees.
It grew stronger by the second, whipping our hair back and forth across our faces.

Father's words became harder to hear above the growing gale, but I strained to catch every syllable. Suddenly, his eyes widened in mid-sentence.
The wind violently whipped our clothes against our bodies, almost knocking us off balance.
"Listen carefully," Father shouted over the wind, urgency lacing his voice.
"You must find the ancient temple hidden in the mountains; it's the only place you'll learn to control your power."
"But beware," he added, his eyes locking onto mine with a fierce intensity, "the gods themselves may not want you to succeed."
