I am Princess Lilyanna Rose, the princess of the kingdom.
Yes, you heard that right - a princess, and not just a normal one either.
The princess of an entire freaking kingdom.
Talk about being born under a lucky star!
But I don't feel lucky.
Not one bit.
If anything, then I am the unlucky ones.
Born to the King and Queen of the kingdom, I mean what else would I be other than pampered?
And not just pampered but pampered to the extent of being spoiled beyond salvation.
My parents don't scold me.
They don't punish me.
They don't even yell at me!
All they do is give me whatever I want, and whatever I want, I get.
Always.I mean talk about comfort and ease.
I have it all!
Who wouldn't want to be a princess?
The most beautiful gowns, the most precious looking jewels, the best horses in the kingdom, the most beautiful looking servants catering to my every need and whim...
I mean what more could a girl ask for?
But that's exactly what's wrong with me - I am a girl who asks for too much.
The princess who is never satisfied.
I am the princess who is always greedy for more.
More food, more clothes, more jewelry, more sweets...
I am never full, and thus I eat all day every day.
The Princess Who Became A Servant
I am currently lounging on my silk-cushioned window seat, watching the kitchen staff hurry across the courtyard in their white uniforms, carrying trays of steaming hot dishes to the dining hall for lunch.
My stomach growls.
I have already finished lunch an hour ago, but I am still hungry.
I ring the silver bell beside me and my personal maid hurries in.
"What do you need, Princess?"
She asks, curtsying low.
"Get me cream puffs and chocolate tarts from the kitchen," I say.
The maid pauses for a moment, her eyes flicking to the empty plates still littering my chamber floor from earlier snacks.
I am wearing a velvet dress that is so tight that I can barely move, and so I haven't bothered getting up to pick up the dishes myself.
The other servants are already clearing them away, but they exchange worried glances with each other at my request. "Yes, Princess," The maid says finally, and hurries out again.
Minutes later she returns with a new tray of sweets and places it on the table before me.
I grab a cream puff and shove it into my mouth, letting the sweet filling coat my tongue before swallowing it down.

After finishing the cream puffs, I drag myself up and over to the window seat again, my dress straining at the seams.
The afternoon sun shines through the stained glass window, casting colorful shadows on my face.
I watch the kitchen maids hurry across the courtyard in their white uniforms, carrying big baskets of fresh bread and fruits from the market.
The sweet aroma of freshly baked apple pie wafts up from the kitchen windows below, making my mouth water despite my recent feast.
I ring the bell again and order a servant to fetch me a slice.
While I wait for it to arrive, I shift uncomfortably in my seat, feeling the tightness of my dress across my stomach.
I realize that my hunger is a hollow echo of something deeper, something no feast can fill.
