"Let’s go easy this time."
I said while grinning at my best friend Billy Philison.
We were sitting in my car outside the Ferran Academy boarding school, which was our next target for pranks.
"We can’t, Stephan. We have to keep the legacy alive."
Billy looked at me with a mixture of surprise and amusement.
We had been doing this for years now.
Causing chaos and mayhem wherever we went.
We were the pranksters of Ferran Academy.
Everyone knew that if anything weird happened, it was either Stephan Stewart or Billy Philison behind it.
This time, however, we decided to tone it down a notch.
We didn’t want to get into any more trouble than we could handle.
So we decided to keep the peace and not cause too much trouble.
"Well, I think it’s time we changed our ways."
I said while leaning against my car.
"I don’t think that’s a good idea, Stephan. Besides, what’s the fun in that?"
Billy crossed his arms over his chest and smirked at me.
"Well, I think it’s time we grew up."
I countered while smirking back at him.
"Besides, we don’t want to end up like last year, do you?"
I raised an eyebrow at him.
He chuckled and shook his head.
"No, I don’t think I want to end up like that either. We almost got expelled last year because of the prank we pulled. Remember?"
The Prank War That Changed Everything
"No, I guess not. But we can still have a little fun, right?"
I nodded and grinned.
"Of course, we can. But let’s keep it light this time. No pranks that will get us expelled."
"Okay, okay. So what do you have in mind?"
Billy leaned forward in his seat and looked at me with excitement.
"I was thinking maybe we could switch all the classroom signs around. You know, like last year when we switched the signs on the bathrooms?"
Billy laughed and shook his head.
"Yeah, that was pretty funny. But I don’t think that would be a good idea this time. We don’t want to cause any more confusion than necessary."
I nodded in agreement.
"Yeah, you’re right. What about something else then?"

Billy thought for a moment and then said, "How about we put rubber ducks in random places around the school? Like on windowsills or behind books in the library?"
I laughed and said, "That’s perfect! It’s harmless but still noticeable enough to get people’s attention."
Billy grinned and said, "Exactly! And who doesn’t love rubber ducks?"
We both laughed and got out of the car.
We headed towards the main building of the school, which was located in the center of campus.
As we walked, Billy asked me where we were going to get the rubber ducks from.
"I already took care of that," I replied with a smile.
"I stashed a bag of twenty yellow rubber ducks in my locker yesterday." Billy looked impressed.
"You really are a genius, Stephan."
I chuckled and said, "Thanks, Billy. Now let’s go get those ducks and start our prank."
We made our way to my locker and retrieved the bag of rubber ducks.
Then we split up to plant them around the school.
We put them on windowsills, behind books in the library, next to the water fountain, and even on top of the trophy case in the gymnasium.
As I was placing the last duck on top of the trophy case, I heard footsteps coming from down the hall.
I quickly ducked behind one of the columns that supported the roof of the gymnasium and waited for whoever it was to pass by.

After a few seconds, I heard someone say, "What are you doing here?"
My heart started pounding in my chest as I realized that the person who was coming towards me was none other than Mr. Harrison, our history teacher.
He was known for being very strict and never hesitated to give out detention to anyone who broke the rules.
I pressed myself against the cold stone column and held my breath, hoping that he wouldn’t see me.
The footsteps got closer and closer until they stopped right next to the trophy case where I had just placed the last duck.
I peeked around the corner of the column and saw Mr. Harrison standing there, looking at the trophy case with a confused expression on his face.

He adjusted his glasses and peered closer at the small army of rubber ducks that were now decorating the shelves of the trophy case.
Then he reached out his hand and grabbed one of the ducks.
