Lizzy is my sister, she is Soda's sister too and she is Darryl's sister also.
We have a 16-year-old kid sister named Lizzy Curtis.
Lizzy is the youngest in the family Curtis.
My friend Johnny Cade has one rule for their friendship: no secrets.
So when Lizzy told Johnny about Dally, Johnny told me.
Soda, Darryl and I were at the Soda shop when Lizzy walked in with Johnny Cade after they got home from the DX.
They had school tomorrow so they had to walk home.
When they got near our house that's where the Socs and their blue Mustang were parked.
The greasers were at our house, the socs took off in a hurry when they heard the greasers were at our house.
We looked at each other and then we looked at Lizzy and Johnny.
The socs were looking for Lizzy to tell her but they didn't know where she was at.
The greasers found her and were going to tell her about Dally but they didn't know where she was at either.
Lizzy's face changed when Johnny told her Dally was back.
Her eyes got wide and then she took off running to our house.
She ran past us and the screen door slammed behind her.
She went in the living room first, then she went upstairs.
Her feet were loud as she went from room to room.
We all stayed on the porch, looking at each other.
Two-Bit lit a cigarette and Steve kicked at the dirt.
We knew Dally wasn't here yet, he was probably still at Buck's place getting settled.
But Lizzy's urgency told us everything was about to change.
I leaned on the porch railing, watching Lizzy pace in front of the living room window.
Two-Bit's cigarette smoke drifted lazily into the evening air while Steve kicked at the dirt, creating small dust clouds.
Johnny sat quietly on the steps, his dark eyes following Lizzy's movements.
The sun was setting behind the trees in our front yard, casting long shadows and making it cooler.
I considered heading to Buck's to find Dally myself, but something kept me rooted to this spot.
"Why's she so worked up about Dally?" Two-Bit asked, flicking ash from his cigarette.
"She found out he's been hiding something big," Johnny replied, his voice low but steady.
Steve stopped kicking the dirt and looked up, eyebrows raised. "What could Dally possibly be hiding from us?"
