"Come to my place now!" I heard Mia scream through the phone.
I looked at the clock and it was 3:30 pm.
It was a Wednesday and she knew I didn’t have classes today, but I was sleeping.
"Are you coming?" she asked.
I had a whole day ahead of me and I was planning on just staying in and watching some movies.
But I guess I could go hang out with her for a bit.
"Okay, fine. What’s up?"
I asked her.
She didn’t answer me and she hung up.
I sighed and hung up the phone on the bed next to me and got up.
I walked over to my closet and put some clothes on.
I walked over to my car and got in.
I drove over to her house, which was about twenty minutes away.
I parked my car outside her house—and that’s when I heard all of the laughing and talking.
What was going on?
I didn’t think that she had any parties or anything planned today.
I walked over to the pool, which was where everything was taking place—and that’s when I realized something was off.
There were only girls here!
What was I doing?
Why did Mia not tell me that it was only girls?
Was this a surprise party or something?
I saw Emily and Jessica—they were two of my friends—and they looked at me weirdly.
They both had their tops off and so did everyone else!
What kind of party was this?
The Only Guy At The Party
I stood there frozen at the edge of the pool, my hand halfway up in a wave to them.
They looked at me back, but neither of them waved back.
The sound of the water splashing and all of the chatter was deafening.
Emily whispered something to Jessica, who quickly covered herself with a towel.
Everyone else seemed to notice me now, too.
Their conversations all died down one by one.
Some of them grabbed their towels and others sunk deeper into the water.
I looked over across the pool and saw Mia.
She was talking with Adrianna and she hadn’t seen me yet.
I took a step backward, my shoe scraping against the concrete.
The Only Guy At The Party
The sound made Mia turn and she looked at me with wide eyes.
She almost dropped her drink. "Jamie?"
I stood there frozen, my hand still up in a half-wave as twenty pairs of eyes stared at me in shock.
The splashing and laughter had all died down now and the only sound was people whispering to each other and the water lapping against the side of the pool.
Some girls I recognized from campus huddled together, covering themselves with towels and shooting me accusatory glances.
Emily ducked behind Jessica, who crossed her arms over her chest and glared at me.
Mia’s face cycled through confusion, embarrassment, and then horror as she set her drink down on a nearby table and started walking toward me.
The Only Guy At The Party
"Mia, what's going on?" I asked, trying to keep my voice steady.
She hesitated, glancing back at the pool before whispering, "I didn't think you'd actually come."
Adrianna stepped forward, her voice sharp, "This was supposed to be a private gathering, Jamie."
"I-I know," I stammered, holding up my phone.
"She called me and told me to come over right away."
I gestured at my phone as if it were proof.
I kept my eyes firmly on the ground, trying to keep my face from burning any hotter.
I shifted to the side, positioning myself behind a lawn chair in an attempt to hide my body's reaction to the sight of all these girls in swimsuits.
The Only Guy At The Party
The girls exchanged confused glances and Adrianna crossed her arms over her chest.
Mia checked her phone and then gasped.
She must have seen her outgoing call log because she had accidentally called me instead of Maria, who was supposed to bring extra towels.
Adrianna shot me another glare.
Mia stepped closer, her phone still in hand.
"I meant to call Maria to bring more towels. I didn't mean to call you."
Her face softened when she saw how uncomfortable I was.
"Well, you're already here..."
She glanced over at the drink table and then gestured toward the cooler.
"Maybe grab a beer and hang out for a bit?"
Some girls were whispering and pointing while others had started to relax again, pulling their towels tighter but no longer hiding.
Adrianna's glare didn’t waver as Mia gestured toward the cooler.
I shifted my weight, unsure of what to do, and Emily peeked out from behind Jessica.
Emily's voice was tentative, "It's okay, Jamie, you can stay."
The Only Guy At The Party
Jessica sighed, her tone softening, "Yeah, just... maybe next time text first?"
Mia nodded, offering a small smile, "Let's just enjoy the party now that you're here."
I nodded, my hands still shaking as I accepted a cold beer from the cooler.
Mia gestured to the cluster of lawn chairs near the pool and the girls parted slightly as I approached, leaving a gap in the circle that made me feel even more awkward.
I settled into an empty chair between Emily and Jessica, who both shifted away from me as they continued their conversation.
The girls gradually started talking again, but it was quieter than before.
I took small sips of my beer, painfully aware of Adrianna's suspicious stares from across the pool.
The Only Guy At The Party
Emily glanced over at me and asked, "So Jamie, what are you doing this weekend?"
I took another sip of my beer and then replied, "Not much, just hanging out."
Emily nodded and then turned back to Jessica, not following up with any more questions.
The music seemed too loud in the awkward silence that followed.
I glanced around the pool area and noticed that the girls had all shifted away from me, forming tight clusters on the other side of the pool.
The girls nearest to the snack table shifted away when I reached for a chip, and Adrianna whispered something to Mia, who glanced over at me with concern.
The Only Guy At The Party
I focused intently on peeling the label off my beer bottle, trying to pretend that I didn't notice everyone stealing uncomfortable glances in my direction.
Suddenly, Jessica jumped up and shouted, "Let's do a treasure hunt!"
The girls quickly gathered around Mia, who was holding a handful of colorful plastic rings.
Mia held them up, "I got these thinking we could throw them into the deep end and everyone dive in to collect them. It'll be fun!"
The girls all cheered, and the mood at the party shifted.
Some of the girls started positioning themselves along the edge of the pool, while others moved closer to the shallow end.
Emily gave me a hesitant look before asking, "Do you want to join?"
Before I could answer, Adrianna stepped between us and suggested, "Why don't Jamie just keep score?"
Emily frowned slightly, "Come on, Adrianna, Jamie can join if they want."
Adrianna shrugged, her voice dismissive, "I just thought it'd be easier for everyone."
Mia interjected with a reassuring smile, "Jamie, it's up to you—whatever makes you comfortable."
The Only Guy At The Party
I shifted uncomfortably in my chair, feeling a bead of sweat trickle down my back.
I glanced over at the girls, who were all dropping their towels and getting ready to jump into the pool.
I cleared my throat and suggested, "Yeah, maybe I'll just keep track of who gets what. That way we can figure out who wins."
The girls all nodded in agreement, and Emily asked me to pass her a scorecard from the table next to me.
I handed it over, and Mia tossed the first ring into the deep end.
Emily dove in first, followed by Jessica and several others.
The afternoon sun reflected off their swimsuits as they entered the pool, making them shimmer like jewels.
I gripped my scorecard tightly, pretending to focus on writing as I fought the urge to look up at them.
My shorts felt constricting and uncomfortable against my skin as I heard the splashing and laughter fill the air.
After a few minutes, Mia asked me to announce the next round.
The Only Guy At The Party
My voice cracked slightly as I called out, "Next one's going in!"
Adrianna watched me with narrowed eyes as I squirmed uncomfortably in my chair and repositioned the scorecard on my lap.
I stared intently at the scorecard, marking points as the girls called out their finds.
The sound of splashing and laughter filled the air, punctuated by the occasional shriek or giggle.
Through my peripheral vision, I noticed movement at the edge of the pool.
Without thinking, I glanced up just as Mia pulled herself out of the water.
Her top had come off during the dive, leaving her bare chest exposed.
My eyes locked on her for a split second before I snapped my head back down, my face burning with embarrassment.
The scorecard trembled in my hands as I heard gasps and whispers erupt from the girls.
Adrianna's voice cut through the commotion, sharp and accusing, "Jamie!"
I stammered, "I-I didn't mean to look, I swear!"
Mia, still topless, approached me. She shook her head disapprovingly. I didn't know you were such a pervert, Jamie.
The Only Guy At The Party
"I didn't mean to look! I swear!" She reached my chair, bending down to eye level. I couldn't help but stare as her tits jiggled.
I sat frozen in my chair, unable to tear my gaze away from her.
Mia grabbed to the armrests on my chair, pushing my arms out of the way.
The other girls emerged from the pool one by one, forming a loose circle around us.
Emily and Jessica exchanged worried glances as they moved closer.
Water dripped from their hair and swimsuits, creating small puddles on the concrete.
The Only Guy At The Party
"You know Jamie," Mia said, pulling my head up so my gaze was on her eyes and not her tits. "If you're gonna stare at us, it's only right that we get to stare at you. Don't you agree?"
I nodded in agreement.
I gripped the scorecard so tightly it started to tear.
"Great," She said, pulling my face closer to her own. "Now, let me stare. Get naked."
My hands shook as I slowly stood up from the chair, the scorecard falling to the ground.
The circle of girls tightened around me, their faces filled with a mix of anger and anticipation.
Mia crossed her arms over her chest, tapping her foot impatiently.
Adrianna smirked while Emily looked away uncomfortably.
Jessica's eyes were fixed on me, her gaze unwavering.

I reached down for the bottom of my t-shirt, hesitating for a moment before lifting it up.
With trembling fingers, I peeled the shirt up over my torso, revealing my average build and pale skin that hadn't seen the sun in months.
The wet concrete beneath my feet felt cold as I stood there, surrounded by the circle of girls.
Mia's eyes narrowed as she watched me fumble with the shirt caught around my shoulders.
Jessica let out a small giggle while Emily turned away, her face red.
Adrianna's smirk grew even wider as I struggled to pull the shirt over my head, my arms tangled in the fabric.
The Only Guy At The Party
I finally managed to free myself from the shirt, standing there shirtless and exposed.
The goosebumps that spread across my skin were a mix of nerves and the cool air.
I crossed my arms over my chest, trying to cover up as much of my bare torso as possible.
Mia took a step closer, her eyes scanning me from head to toe with a critical gaze.
Jessica whispered something in Emily's ear, causing them both to giggle.
I shifted from foot to foot, my nipples hardening in the cold breeze.
Adrianna circled around behind me, her footsteps echoing off the concrete walls.
I tensed up, feeling even more exposed and vulnerable than before.
"Wow," Adrianna said, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
"You're really pale. I mean, like Casper the friendly ghost."

The other girls burst out laughing at her comment.
I tried to back away but bumped into Emily instead.
She quickly stepped aside, giving me enough room to move. Mia gestured for me to continue undressing, her eyes never leaving mine.
