When my friend Lily asked me to a swimsuit party, I never thought it would be a problem.
When I arrived at the private pool, I realized something was off.
Everywhere I looked, there were only girls—laughing, chatting, and having fun in the pool.
And then I realized—I’m the only guy at the party.
"Hey, Mia! Welcome!"
Lily waved at me with a bright smile.
She had no idea how awkward this situation was.
I tried to put on a brave face as I approached her.
"Thanks for inviting me. So, um, where are the boys?"
Lily looked puzzled.
"Boys? What are you talking about?"
I gestured around us.
"Uh, there are only girls here."
Lily chuckled.
"Oh, you thought it was a coed party? I’m sorry I didn’t clarify. I just assumed you knew it was allgirls."
My face turned bright red.
Of all the weird situations I’ve been in, this was a first.
But as I looked around at the laughing girls, I realized—it’s not so bad.
In fact, it could be kind of... fun?
"Why not? Why not, right?"
I said to Lily with a grin.
"If I’m going to crash an allgirls' party, I might as well enjoy it."
Lily cheered and we hugged each other tightly.
