New girl in school she looks nice and sweet but you see right through her lies
Lily Carter
skeptical, and determined. Lily notices the new girl's inconsistencies and decides to investigate her background. She uncovers a web of lies and confronts the new girl, who reveals her true identity as a spy. Lily's friendship with her best friend, Emily, is tested by the new girl's actions but ultimately prevails.
Emily Wilson
loyal, and trusting. Emily initially befriends the new girl without noticing her deceitful nature. As Lily uncovers the truth about the new girl, Emily struggles to accept it due to her trusting nature. Despite this, she remains supportive of Lily and stands by her when confronting the new girl.
Jessica Thompson
cunning, and ambitious. Jessica uses her charm to manipulate others for personal gain or to maintain her status quo. Her rivalry with Lily stems from their differing personalities and approaches to relationships.
I saw the new girl walk into school and she looked really sweet and nice.
She had blue and black hair and braces, which made her look like a goody-goody two-shoes.
She was friendly and open; at least that's what people thought.
I watched her talk to different people and tell them different stories about herself, which didn't add up.
I watched her talk to my best friend Emily and tell her a story that didn't add up either.
I decided that I would talk to her and ask her a few questions, so I walked over to her and said, "Hi, I'm Lily. I couldn't help but notice your hair. It looks really cool."
She said, "Thanks, I just got it done yesterday."
Then I asked her, "What's your name?"
She replied, "My name is Olivia Brown."
I said, "That's a pretty name. Where are you from?"
She said, "I'm from New York."
Then I asked her, "What made you come here?"
She replied, "My family moved here because my dad got a new job."
I knew that she was lying about everything because when I had seen her in the office, she signed in as Sophia Martin.
When I heard her mention her dad, I remembered the principal mentioning that she lived with her mom.
I knew that I had to do some research on this girl to find out who she is and what she wants.
When the final bell rang, I walked over to my locker and started to pack up my books.
I pretended like I was organizing them when in reality, I was watching Olivia pack up her things.
She walked out of the main entrance and headed down the street.
I counted to thirty before I followed her.
I kept a safe distance behind her as she walked past the football field and toward downtown.
She stopped at a coffee shop and went inside.
I ducked behind a parked car when she glanced back over her shoulder.
I watched her through the window as she talked to an older man in a suit.
He wasn't the "dad" that she had mentioned earlier.
They exchanged what looked like a manila envelope, and then he left.
My phone buzzed in my pocket, so I pulled it out to see who it was.
It was Emily texting me asking where I was because we were supposed to be meeting up after school to go shopping.
I texted Emily back, "Sorry, got caught up. Meet me at the coffee shop on Main Street?"
A few minutes later, Emily arrived and whispered, "What's going on, Lily? Why are you spying on Olivia?"
I replied, "I think she's hiding something big, and I just saw her exchange an envelope with a stranger."
I pulled Emily behind a newspaper stand just as Olivia-or-Sophia exited the coffee shop.
Emily's eyes went wide when she saw that the girl didn't walk with her usual bouncy stride; instead, she had a rigid posture and was walking like a total pro.
We trailed her from a distance as she walked through downtown, occasionally looking at her phone.
She stopped at an intersection and looked around before ducking into an alleyway.
Emily started to follow her, but I held her back.
Just as I did, a black sedan pulled up, and another man in a suit got out.
He opened the back door and stood there waiting for Sophia.
I pressed Emily and me against the brick wall of the nearest building, so we wouldn't be seen.
Sophia walked up to him and handed him a USB drive.
