Alistair Thorne

adventurous, and openminded. Alistair stumbles upon an ancient monastery inhabited by fourarmed monks. He is drawn to their unique appearance and warm hospitality. Despite initial confusion, he finds himself enjoying their company and learning about their way of life. Alistair forms a bond with the monks, particularly Brother Marcus, and begins to see the world from a different perspective.

Brother Felix

mischievous, and energetic. Brother Felix often teases Alistair goodnaturedly about his unfamiliarity with their customs. Despite his playful nature, he shows genuine interest in Alistair's stories and eagerly participates in discussions about the outside world. Felix's antics bring laughter to the group and help create a sense of camaraderie among the monks.

Brother Marcus

welcoming, and inquisitive. Brother Marcus greets Alistair warmly and introduces him to the monastery's customs. He takes Alistair under his wing, explaining their practices and traditions. Marcus is fascinated by Alistair's stories of the outside world and shares his own experiences within the monastery walls. His friendship with Alistair deepens as they explore each other's worlds.

I had never seen anything like it before.
The building seemed to grow straight out of the mountain itself.
It was ancient, with stones that had been worn by centuries of weather rolling in and out of the sea, and by the rain that rolled down the mountain from above.
I could see where parts of the building had been damaged over time, but there were clear efforts to repair it, and to keep it strong.
As I approached, I saw a figure standing in the distance.
It did not seem to move as I drew closer, and for a long time I stared at it in confusion.
It was only when I stopped to look at it that I realized it was a statue, one that had been worn by time so that it was difficult to tell what it had once represented.
