When I found out I was pregnant with a crime lord’s baby, I was only 19 years old.
I had no idea that I wanted to keep this baby, so I kept it a secret from him and everyone else.
Little did I know, he was looking for me.
He wanted to make me his wife.
And then, one day, Mason Blackwood found out I was pregnant with his child…
"I’m going to tell him"
My little sister Lily whined.
She had found out my secret and now she was threatening to spill the beans with the father of my child.
I groaned in frustration.
I hadn’t told Mason that he was the father of my child.
Mason was a mobster, and he was dangerous.
I didn’t want to put my child in any danger, so I had decided to keep the secret.
And I had been keeping it a secret for almost nine months now.
But now, Mason had found out.
He was coming here to get an answer out of me.
I wasn’t sure what he was going to do with this information, but I wasn’t going to run away.
I stood up from the couch and began walking towards the front door.
When I opened it, I saw Mason standing there.
His eyes were dark and possessive as he stared at me.
"Ava"
His voice commanded attention and demanded respect.
I stood up straight and dropped my eyes in submission.
"Mason"
I moved back from the doorway, and Mason stepped inside.
His tall frame filled the hallway, and his expensive suit jacket brushed against my arm as he passed me.
The door clicked shut behind him, and he stood there for a moment, staring at my pregnant belly.
I retreated into the living room, keeping a safe distance between us.
Mason followed me with measured steps, his eyes never leaving my stomach.
My hands instinctively went to protect my belly.
The silence was deafening as we stood there, staring at each other.
Finally, Mason closed the distance between us, and his fingers reached out to touch where our child grew.
I flinched away from his touch, but his hand remained steady on my swollen belly.
The baby kicked against his palm, and Mason’s eyes widened in wonder.
My heart pounded in my chest as I watched Mason’s expression change from anger to something softer.
He guided me to sit on the couch, and his large frame settled beside me.
His hand remained on my stomach, tracing circles over my skin.
The silence stretched out between us for a moment, and I knew I couldn’t avoid this conversation any longer.
When Mason finally spoke, his voice was both hurt and determined.
"Why didn't you tell me, Ava?"
I hesitated, searching for the right words.
"Because I was afraid of what you might do, Mason."
Mason’s hand stayed on my belly, and he shifted closer to me.
His thigh pressed against mine on the narrow couch, and I couldn’t help but feel his heat radiating off of him.
I stared at the coffee table in front of us, unable to meet his intense gaze.
His other hand lifted to my chin, gently turning my face toward him.
My breath caught as I realized just how close we were sitting.
The baby kicked again, and Mason’s lips twitched into a small smile.
"I’ve been looking for you for a long time, Ava. My men found out about your doctor appointments, and they followed you here. They told me that you were pregnant."
He paused, his eyes burning with determination.
"I’m not letting you go again. You’re mine, Ava. And this baby is mine too."
I tried to pull away from Mason, but he held me in place with a firm grip on my chin.
It wasn’t painful, but it was unyielding.
When I finally looked into his eyes again, I saw something softer there.
Something that looked almost like love.
Mason leaned in closer to me, his breath hot against my ear.
