The Miracle in Central Africa

Jonas pregou novamente, e o Espírito Santo desceu naquela aldeia. Corações duros se quebraram. Canibais se tornaram irmãos. Hoje, toda a tribo louva ao Senhor e enviam missionários a outras tribos! "Como ouvirão, se não há quem pregue?" (Romanos 10:14) Missões salvam almas. Missões mudam destinos. Missões são o coração de Deus.

Chief of the Tribe

authoritative, skeptical. He is the leader of the tribe in Central Africa. He is stubborn, skeptical, but openminded. Initially hostile towards Jonah and Rachel, he experiences a dream that changes his perspective after meeting them in person. The vision of a man in white influences his decision to protect Rachel and listen to Jonah's message. Though initially resistant, he becomes a key figure in the tribe's acceptance of the Gospel and their interaction with the missionaries.

Then the Lord spoke to the heart of Jonah and Rachel, a young missionary couple.
"Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature..."
They obeyed.
They were sent to Central Africa, to a tribe known for its cannibal culture and hostility towards outsiders.
With tears and prayers, they left everything behind: family, friends, comforts... even their own lives.
"Whoever loves his life loses it, and whoever hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life."
They were met with threats, fear, and looks of death.
They slept on the ground, fasted, wept... but did not give up.
"Whoever loses their life for My sake and the gospel will save it."
One day, Rachel was captured by the tribe to be sacrificed as a virgin offering to their gods.
Jonah knelt and cried out to the heavens.
"Lord, save my wife and this tribe! Use us as Your instruments!"
That night, a miracle occurred.
The chief of the tribe had a dream of a man in white who spoke to him.
"These two were sent by Me. They bring life, not death."
At dawn, Rachel was set free.
Jonah preached again.
The Holy Spirit descended upon that village.
Hard hearts were broken.
Cannibals became brothers.
Today, the entire tribe praises the Lord and sends missionaries to other tribes!
The Miracle in Central Africa
I stand at the edge of the village clearing, watching as Rachel comes out of the chief's hut.
Her white dress is dirty but she walks steadily, head held high.
My legs feel weak as I take a step forward.
The morning sun bathes everything in golden light, making the dew on the grass sparkle.
The villagers part silently, creating a path between us.
Rachel's eyes meet mine across the distance.
We both move at the same time, our steps quickening until we collide.
I wrap my arms around her tightly, feeling her warmth, her realness.
Our tears mix as we press our foreheads together, whispering prayers of thanksgiving.
"Rachel, what happened in there?"
The Miracle in Central Africa
"The chief said the man in white told him to listen to us, that we bring a message of life."
"Jonah, he wants us to teach them about our God; they want to know everything."
As we speak, a young girl brings us a woven basket of fruit and bread.
We sit on the grass, sharing our first meal with the tribe since Rachel's release.
The villagers gather around, watching with curiosity.
Suddenly, the sound of drums echoes through the village.
The chief's expression darkens as he recognizes the rhythm.
"War drums," he growls.
I look at Rachel, worried.
"Who is it?"
I ask the chief, using hand gestures to convey my question.
He points in the direction of the drums and says a word I don't understand.
The Miracle in Central Africa
"Mboko," he repeats, his voice filled with hatred.
"Enemy."
Rachel and I exchange worried glances.
The chief motions for us to follow him to his hut for safety.
But I hesitate, remembering God's promise about bringing life, not death.
