One day Darko called Tanka. And he said he had a solution. They were going to advertise for a speech therapist who would teach the mayor to speak intelligibly. Tanka exclaimed joyfully: God bless you, Darko! Now I can be at peace without thinking about throwing my hat in his face and running away from this municipality.

For example, if he asked her to bring him coffee, she would bring him water.
If he asked for water, she would bring him juice.
If he asked for juice, she would bring him whiskey and so on.
The mayor got angry and she was frustrated.
She complained to Darko, the head of the human resources department.
One day he called her and asked:
"Tanka, what is going on between you and the mayor? He is mad at you again."
"The same thing, Darko," Tanka exclaimed.
"I do not know what he wants anymore. I am tired of his anger."
Darko calmly replied:
"Do not worry, Tanka. I have a solution. We are going to advertise for a speech therapist who will teach the mayor to speak intelligibly."
Tanka exclaimed joyfully:
"God bless you, Darko! Now I can be at peace without thinking about throwing my hat in his face and running away from this municipality."
She sat in Darko's office, and for the first time in weeks, she felt her shoulders relax.
Through the window, she watched the mayor crossing the courtyard, gesturing wildly at a confused gardener.
Poor soul probably got the same garbled instructions she always did.
Darko started drafting the job posting on his computer, reading snippets aloud.
"Speech therapist to work with the mayor of Dojran... provide speech therapy to improve communication skills... salary range 2,000 to 3,000 denars..."
Tanka grabbed her cleaning cart, ready to tackle the rest of her shift with renewed hope.
"Thank you," she told Darko sincerely.
"Finally, she thought, there might be a way to understand each other."
The next day, Tanka was mopping the hallway outside the mayor's office.
She heard his muffled voice through the door.
He was talking to himself, but it sounded like he was arguing with someone.
The cleaning lady groaned in frustration and continued her work.
Suddenly she heard a loud squawk and froze mid-mop.
A bright green parrot flew through the open window and landed on the coat rack.
The mayor emerged from his office, trying to tell Tanka something about document filing.
But as usual, all that came out was garbled nonsense.
Tanka was about to guess wrong again when the parrot suddenly spoke in a clear voice:
"Please organize these permits by date."
Tanka stared at the bird in shock, frozen mid-mop.
