Wang Bo and I were about to have a fight.
It was all because of a rose.
A fucking rose!
I had just hung up my clothes in the balcony when I saw him holding a rose and a packet of Oreo biscuits.
He was standing right in front of our dormitory door, looking at me with a smile on his face.
"Hey, Peizhe! What are you doing?"
I gave him an 'are you serious' look.
"What are you doing with that rose?"
He smiled even wider.
"I'm giving it to you!"
I stared at him.
"Are you trying to piss me off? We haven't even begun to talk about the last time you used my shampoo and now you're giving me a rose?"
He laughed.
"You're so funny, Peizhe! I didn't buy this rose for you. I just happen to like roses, okay?"
I glared at him.
"Then what's with the Oreo biscuits?"
He gave me another smile.
"I'm going out with Xu Yang and Lan Zhihan later. I bought these biscuits for them."
I scoffed.
"You know they don't like Oreo biscuits!"
He looked at me.
"Well, they can't say no to me, can they?"
I rolled my eyes.
"You're such an asshole, Wang Bo!"
He chuckled and said,
"You love me anyway."
I shot back,
"That's not true!"
He smiled again.
"Isn't it though? You wouldn't be so patient with me if you didn't love me."
I frowned.

I stormed over to the balcony and started yanking my half-dried shirts from the clothesline.
Wang Bo followed me, still clutching that ridiculous rose in his hand.
His footsteps echoed behind me as I grabbed shirt after shirt and threw them into a pile on the floor.
The metal hangers clanged against each other, making a loud noise that drowned out the sound of Wang Bo's footsteps.
A sock fell off the line and landed on the ground with a soft thud.

I didn't bother to pick it up.
Wang Bo bent down to grab it for me, but I snatched it away before he could reach it.
Our hands touched briefly, and I flinched at the contact.
I busied myself with folding the clothes into a messy pile, trying to ignore Wang Bo's presence behind me.
I aggressively folded another shirt and threw it onto the pile.
Wang Bo was still standing there, clutching that stupid rose in his hand.
The late afternoon sun was starting to set behind the buildings, casting a golden glow over the balcony.
The air was filled with the smell of fresh laundry and the distant sound of children playing in the park below.
A cool breeze rustled the remaining clothes on the line, causing them to sway gently in the wind.
Wang Bo stepped closer to me, his footsteps echoing off the walls of the balcony.
He reached out to help me fold a pair of jeans, but I snatched them away from him.
"Stop it, Wang Bo! I can do this myself!"
He looked at me with a confused expression on his face.
"What's wrong with you, Peizhe? You're acting weird."
The Male Protagonists Are Roommates
I glared at him.
"You're always acting weird, Wang Bo! You're always barging into my personal space and trying to help me with things I can do myself!"
He looked hurt by my words, but he didn't say anything.
Instead, he just stood there watching me fold my clothes in silence. The wind picked up again, causing the clothes on the line to sway even more violently than before.
I reached up to grab a sock that was about to fall off the line, but just as I did, a powerful gust of wind came out of nowhere and knocked all of my neatly folded clothes off the balcony floor.
They went flying over the edge of the balcony and landed on the ground far below.
I lunged forward to catch them, but it was too late.
They were gone.
I turned around to see Wang Bo standing there with a look of shock on his face.
"Peizhe, I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to—"

But before he could finish his sentence, a loud noise echoed through the balcony and made us both jump.
It sounded like someone had slammed a door shut with all their might.
We both turned around to see that it was indeed a door that had been slammed shut - our dormitory door!
