I was so happy to see my friends, and I knew that this day would be even more fun with them.
"Hey, guys! I found a path over here," I said, and they both came to where I was.
When they saw the path, they were as surprised as I was.
"Wow! This is new," Ava said, looking around.
"I don’t think that we have been here before."
"I haven’t either. Let’s go see where it goes," I said, and we all started walking.
As we walked, the forest started to change.
The trees got taller and the path got wider.
We could see further ahead and knew that we would be able to tell soon where it would lead.
Suddenly, it stopped, and we found ourselves in front of a huge lake.
We were amazed because none of us had seen the lake before.
We knew that we had to find a way around it, but as we looked at the water, we didn’t see any way across.
"This is weird. I don’t think that I have ever seen this lake before," Sam said, looking around.
"I haven’t either. I think that it just appeared," Ava said, and we all agreed with her.
We knew that the forest could change itself, but none of us had seen anything like this before.
I walked to the edge of the lake and found a smooth rock to sit on.
The water looked clear, and I could see the sandy bottom.
I untied my shoelaces and carefully removed my sneakers.
I placed them beside me and then peeled off my socks.
The cool forest air felt good against my bare feet.
Sam was watching me with concern, but he didn’t say anything.
He picked up a long stick and tested the depth of the water.
Ava was picking up small stones and skipping them across the surface of the lake.
I stood up and took a tentative step into the water.
The lake shimmered, and the world shifted around us.
The lake water tingles against my feet as I take another step forward.
Behind me, Sam hesitates at the water's edge, his stick hovering just above the surface.
Ava is still picking up small stones, but she glances over at me occasionally.
The shimmering intensifies where my feet touch the water, creating ripples of light that spread outward across the surface of the lake.
Small fish dart between my toes, their scales catching the sunlight and sending shafts of light up through the water.
I giggle as they tickle my feet.
The sound of my laughter echoes across the water, causing more lights to dance across the surface of the lake.
I wiggle my toes, watching in amazement as the lights respond to my movements.
"Do you feel that?" Sam asked, his voice tinged with awe.
"It's like the water is alive," Ava replied, her eyes wide as she watched the lights dance.
"Maybe this lake isn't just a lake," I said, realizing we might have stumbled upon something magical.
The fish dart more aggressively between my toes now, their tiny fins brushing against my soles.
I try to keep my balance as involuntary giggles escape my lips.
The water around my feet bubbles and swirls, creating a whirlpool of tickling sensations.
Sam drops his stick and steps forward with concern, but I wave him back, barely able to speak through my growing laughter.
The tingling intensifies as more fish gather, their movements deliberate and playful.
My legs start to shake from the overwhelming tickling.
I try to lift my feet out of the water, but they feel heavy, as if the lake is pulling me in.
Suddenly, the water released me, and I stumbled back onto the shore, breathless and exhilarated.
