On a planet without time, they didn’t invent time as we did.
They didn’t born, didn’t get old, and didn’t die.
But they didn’t remember who they were in their previous life, just like us.
But one day, some of them met people from Earth, who told them about their past lives.
Curious, the locals asked to be taken to their families on Earth to see how they had lived in the past.
The humans agreed and took some of them to Earth.
During this trip, they got to know each other better, and soon some of them fell in love with each other.
As they were not on their planet, they felt different emotions and senses, which they had never felt before, and they started to get excited about the world.
The Last Human
I sit with a group of humans in their metallic dwelling, my curiosity burning as I lean forward on the strange cushioned seat.
Sarah, the Earth historian, spreads out physical objects called "photographs" on the table between us.
My fingers trace the edges of these frozen moments, showing human families - children growing taller in sequential images, parents aging beside them.
Keth and Kaida crowd closer, their shoulders pressing against mine as we examine each image.
When Sarah describes the concept of "growing up with siblings," I feel an unfamiliar ache in my chest.
The Last Human
The sensation intensifies as she shows us a picture of her own family gathering, their faces creased with something she calls "joy."
I lean closer as she pulls out another photograph, this one showing a large table laden with food and smiling faces.
My hand trembles slightly as I point to a young girl blowing out candles on a round, colorful object.
Sarah explains it’s a celebration called a "birthday," marking another year of life.
Keth asks about the decorations, his voice full of excitement.
Kaida remains unusually quiet, her eyes fixed on the corner of the image where a mother is embracing her child.
The Last Human
The concept of celebrating time passing feels foreign yet strangely appealing.
