I was sitting in the library with Zara, doing my homework.
When I came to this school, I thought it would be hard for me to make friends.
But thankfully, I wasn't alone, and I had Zara with me.
She was a good friend, and I was grateful to have her in my life.
This school was for supernatural beings.
Werewolves, witches, warlocks, healers, and hunters were all in this school.
It was a good way to learn how to work together and to know each other.
Because in the outside world, we were all enemies.
There was a lot of drama between the students.
Boys were fighting over girls, and girls were doing mean stuff to other girls.
It was a good thing I wasn't involved in it.
"Morana, can you help me with this math problem?"
Zara asked me.
"Sure, let me see it," I said.
We were studying together.
It was our lunchtime, but we wanted to finish our homework first so we could have more time for ourselves later on.
I was looking at her math problem when someone knocked on the library door and walked inside.
I didn't even pay attention to who it was until I felt that strange feeling in my gut.
It was a feeling that I had whenever something important was happening or something was about to change in my life.
I looked up and saw who it was.
It was a boy from our school, Caleb Hunter.
He was from a hunter family.
He was walking toward our table with confidence.
I looked away, trying to ignore the feeling in my stomach.
I didn't want to have anything to do with a hunter.
"Okay, so here is the equation," I said to Zara, pointing at her math problem.
"This is the first number. This is the second. We need to add them together and then multiply by this number."
I was explaining it to her step by step.
Caleb stopped at our table.
He was standing there for a few seconds, waiting for me to look up.
But I didn't want to give him my attention, so I continued explaining the math problem to Zara.
"Hey, Morana," he said.
His voice was steady and calm, but there was something in his tone that made me wonder what he wanted from me.
I looked up at him and nodded.
"Yes?"
I asked him.
"Can we talk later?" he asked me.
I could see that he wanted to say something important, but I didn't know why he wanted to talk to me specifically.
"Sure," I said.
He nodded and walked away.
I looked back at Zara, who was looking at me with a raised eyebrow.
"What do you think he wants?" she asked me in a low voice.
I shrugged.
"I don't know," I said.
I tried to focus on the equations in front of me, but my mind was somewhere else.
The bell rang, signaling that lunchtime was over and that we needed to go to class.
Zara gathered her books and stood up.
"I'll see you later, Morana," she said with a smile.
I nodded and watched her walk away.
I stayed in the library for a few more minutes, waiting for Caleb to come back.
The room emptied slowly as students went to their classes.
The only sound was the rustle of pages turning. Finally, the door opened again, and Caleb walked inside.
He gestured for me to follow him outside.
I grabbed my bag and stood up from my chair.
I followed him outside the school building and into the forest surrounding it.
We stopped near a tree, and he turned around to face me.
"What do you want?"
I asked him directly.
