I'm Amkei Kistune, a water yin and yang Kistune Samurai from Japan.
Currently, I was traveling to China to learn the martial arts from the land of the ancients.
It was said that China was the land of the gods and the dragons, so I was curious about their martial arts.
Besides Japan, who else had a high level of martial arts?
My sensei also gave me permission to go, so I left immediately without informing anyone yet.
As I walked through one of the mountains in China, suddenly a man blocked my way.
He looked like he was an immortal, and it seemed that he had a high level of discipline in martial arts.
He looked at me with wide eyes as if he had seen a unicorn or a phoenix.
"Who are you?"
I asked him in Japanese since I didn't know a bit of Chinese.
Luckily, he understood what I was saying; he smiled widely while his eyes were still looking at me wide.
"I'm Liang Chen!"
I didn't want to waste my time, so I asked him, "What do you want?"
He still smiled widely while his eyes were still looking at me wide.
"Are you going to travel around this mountain? If so, then can you let me accompany you?"
I looked at him from head to toe.
He seemed to have no bad intention toward me, and it also would be good for me since I didn't know the route on this mountain.
The Immortal's Pursuit
I studied him for a moment, his eager expression almost made me smile.
He was waiting for my answer, his smile faltering slightly at my prolonged silence.
The mountain path was narrow and treacherous, loose rocks scattered along the path, and a cold wind whipped through my hair.
I adjusted the position of my katana on my back.
Having a guide would be practical, especially in an unfamiliar area like this.
However, I couldn't afford to be distracted from my training right now.
The way he stared at me with such obvious infatuation made me uncomfortable.
I drew myself up to my full height, meeting his gaze straight on.
"Why do you want to accompany me, Liang Chen?"
His eyes flickered with a mix of determination and something else I couldn't quite place.
"I've heard tales of the Kitsune Samurai, and I believe you hold the key to a secret my family has been searching for."
The Immortal's Pursuit
I didn't want to waste my time talking with him, so I decided to just ignore what he said and continued on my journey.
He followed me from behind, but I could sense that he was not too far.
As we continued on our way, the path grew narrower and more treacherous.
I gripped the rough mountain face, my fingers digging into the dirt as loose rocks tumbled down into the misty depths below.
The air was thin and the wind howled through the trees, making it hard to hear anything else.
Liang moved with supernatural grace, his footsteps light on the path ahead.
He gestured for me to follow him, pointing out particularly steep sections or areas where the ground gave way beneath our feet.
I ignored his attempts to offer his hand, preferring to maintain my distance as we navigated the challenging terrain.
Eventually, we came to a sheer cliff face, where Liang stopped abruptly and turned back to me.
His eyes gleamed in the fading light as he pressed his palm against the stone, revealing a doorway carved with ancient symbols that had been invisible until that moment. The rock face shimmered and parted, exposing a tunnel that wound deeper into the mountain's heart.
